  • Deal or No Deal

I lied.  I didn't go to bed but started looking for some links for upcoming posts.  I came across a deal or no deal video.  I haven't watched that show in ages.  I think I stopped after I got my first cell phone that had text message capabilities in the fall of 2006, yes, I was way behind times in cell phone technology.  Anyway one reason I stopped was the text message game featured in every episode.  They stopped that game for awhile because I remember a family in Minnesota that tried to sue NBC because they didn't realize that the game cost money to play so Minnesota passed some law that made it impossible for residents of Minnesota to play text message games if they had to pay per entry.  Well the couple had cell and would enter the max amount of times (10 times at $1 per time) so then they got another 2 cell lines to have 20 more chances to enter.  So every episode they were dropping $30.  What does that have to do with this video I found?  Absolutely nothing.

I find sick delight in watching people get screwed in that game.  Greed brings out the worst in people.  I have to admit that guy did have a great shot of walking out with $1million, better than most.  I don't think he got a congratulatory fist bump.

  • Shot Down and Random Thoughts

Today was a dreary day.  It was cold and windy.  I woke and noticed a white covering on my lawn.  Then I got up and showered and it was gone.  So cold.  My cat is getting better.  She still favors her paw but she is putting weight on it and walking around a bit more.

My parents wanted to go shopping so I decided to tag along because I had no plans and the Badgers have been having a lousy season which is funny because they won in convincing fashion today (55-20).  The downside was my boy fumbled a kick-off return.

We went to a Chinese restaurant actually it was a buffet.  Everything looked the same so I just ate egg rolls and crab rangoons.  This buffet is where I had my misery.  As I walked in this little Chinese woman, probably 20s and not even 5 feet tall, came up to me and started speaking Chinese.  She was so excited to see me or so it seemed.  I had no clue who she was.  Then the owner waved at me.  Strange, I'm not a regular.  Must be my rugged good looks(HA!) More like my protruding stomach.  Then my parents sat down across from me and as I was getting the chair this little lady crawled over me, knees on my thigh, to straight out the place mats.  The whole time she is looking at me with these excited eyes and speaking Chinese.  I was thinking of trying to say something but my parents were there and even though they are old and not with it, I didn't dare bring up the term "happy ending".  As I was strapping on the first feed bag, a goddess walked in and was seated across from us.  I thought I recognized her but I am probably wrong.  I went up when she was at the food and said hi.  She said, "Don't bother, I don't date short guys."  SHORT?  ME?  I'm at least 6'2" and at one point was 6'4" but that changed after a car accident.  I conceded defeat and let the girl who was at least 6'5" eat in peace.  I'm short?  That pissed me off.  Then the little Chinese girl came and crawled over me to grab an empty plate.  My mom said, "They must be friendly in China."  I may go back in a day or so to see if she does it again.

We then went to a Dollar Tree.  I bought some awesome dvds.  $1 dvds.  Yeah, they work.  I found four volumes of the old Lutheran cartoon/claymation Davey and Goliath.  Ah, childhood memories.  I also had to check out the dollar cologne....dollar cologne surprisingly smells the same as the real stuff or maybe I am not civilized.  I also found gummi popcorn and the package said it was sour and had multiple flavors that you had to pick out.  I almost lost my lunch.

On the way home my dad almost hit 4 deer.  3 were in one spot and 1 was in another.  I don't think he even saw them.  I am still debating to whether or not I should get a license this year.  I still have venison from last year.  Don't get uptight.  I hunt to help my family.  They have a farm and the deer population is high and they lost a lot of their corn crop this year due to the overpopulation of deer.

Came home and watched Cinderella Man.  Good movie directed by Opie.  It was nice to see he gave his father and his brother Clint bit parts.  I think I am off to bed.  Feel a bit feverish.  Maybe it is because I am still steaming about being called short.

Not me but I'm trying to illustrate a point.  So does size matter...as in height?
