Homework Assignment 12/3
Class, I read your last assignment and was pleased. Part of my sneaky reasoning behind question A was so that I could have Xangans birthdays so I can wish you all a happy birthday. I'm weird like that since I don't really celebrate my birthday. I just want others to be happy on theirs. Anyway that's weird so everyone gets an A+.
Here's your next assignment:
C.
Make sure you answer two questions clearly and concisely. Answering all three questions gets you extra credit. Now get to work.
A. Princess Glitz
B. I think school should be year round. You would be shocked how much knowledge kids lose over a summer break. It always seemed like the first quarter and half of the second were all review in most subjects. I had students that came back after summer and couldn't write or read cursive writing. I had one student that forgot how to tell time using an analog clock. I had another student forget how to form paragraphs. It was awful. One of the school districts in my area is implementing year round school. The kids will get a three week vacation in the summer and I forget how the other vacations line up but I think they have two other three week vacations in there somewhere. The problem with implementing this is they are only going to use it for K-4. To me that's stupid because what happens when a kid in 3rd grade has a sibling in 6th and that sibling has a full summer break while the kid in 3rd grade has class?
C. I'd rather go with the rusty nail because I've done it before and it wasn't that painful. I imagine the worst part of being grazed is seeing the blood which would probably cause me to faint.

A) Montana Hooter.
B) Yeah. As a teacher it would be crazy. But kids really lose a lot of information over the summer.
C) Neither. Both sound unecessarily painful.
1 - Candy Cream (better than the first time I picked one)
2 - No. Children should be unsupervised for 3 months at a time, and my teaching friends appreciate the month and a half off in the hot months.
3 - Grazed by a bullet. Battle wounds are sexy, and I don't think it's all that unlikely to happen in my life time, heh.
1) candy rock. ummmmm...
2) As an adult I can say yes, they probably should be if america is to be truly competitive with the rest of the world. Had you asked me this as a kid I would have said HELL NAW
3) Bullet. I don't want a tetanus shot and then plus you'd have a cool scar.
Kitty Tower
No way, kids need summer off to pursue fun stuff.
Grazed by a bullet is a cooler story.
Dallas Whip, but I don't strip.
No, the break may not be as necessary as it used to be, but there is still a lot of work and life experience to be gained in the summer. I'd hate for kids to miss out on that. Of course, if they're just going to be sent to day care and/or play video games all day, then they might as well be in school. If I ever have children, I'm going to home school them, so it doesn't matter to me one way or the other.
I'd say grazed by a bullet, even though I am concerned about the potential for additional bullets in that scenario. The nail sounds like it could really take a foot out of commission for awhile, and who can afford that?
A) Princess Sizzle. I'd make a lousy stripper anyway.
B) College should be year-round. I wasn't fond of K-12 but once in college I couldn't wait for summer break, Christmas break, Spring break to be over. I enjoyed college immensely.
C) A rusty nail because rusty nails don't give people tetanus. Boards give people tetanus.
A. Princess Bomb. I like that one.
B. Ehhh. I went to a school that had a half-day summer school, and I like it fine.
C. Bullet. I think there would be way fewer complications.
A. Sugar Tower. That stripper name is bad and I should feel bad.
B. No because I don't want to be stuck behind busses during the summer months too.
C. Grazed by a bullet after having a shootout with a bus that I was stuck behind.
A. Diamond Tower
B. I actually believe that schools are mostly archaic and outdated, but useful enough to spread the basics of information around. They don't do enough to elevate and impassion the children though, there are more than a few models of schools that CAN do that, inspire a love of learning, and cultivate a child's innate potential, but the current school system is not overly productive at present. Watch this ---> LINK in short, I guess I am saying it depends on the type of school, sometimes life is the best teacher, and sometimes your mentor engages you in life.
C. Assuming that you were specific about the location that the nail penetrated and not where the bullet hit because one gets to choose where the bullet will graze, I choose the bullet. I just recently stepped on a rusty nail, still recovering from it, I think I would much prefer choosing the location of where I was grazed, knowing that I would be grazed. It would probably be an easier wound to maintain proper care of, and you always get bonus points for being able to say you came this close to biting it, and having a nifty scar to show for it.
kitty whip....damn, I didn't know I was turnin Cruella DeVille...cat got your tongue?
no, because if it was year round, one would lose some autonomy of when to vacation as it's then the schools permission to be absent WITH cause or semester/program failure due to funding laws.
I've had technically both happen, I prefer the grazing as you've not stipulated they wounds are equal....but just in case you whine about this cheap linguistic ploy... even if you assume equal wounds, a puncture wound is far worse that a surface gouge...thus bullet grzing please.
I guess my stripper name would be Fantasia Hiney, which is funny because my husband tells me that all the time! What's the coincidence??? =P
I'd rather be grazed by a bullet, will heal faster. And no schools shouldn't be year round. Too many divorced parents that would have their kids going to different schools half the year or the one parent would never see them, as some live on the other side of the country.
A) Diamond Ridge, slutty and redneck all at once!
B) Kids should go to school year round! Mostly on account of them losing information but also a more conisistent education is really important.
C) Grazed by a bullet. Both would smart but 1) bullet graze would heal faster and 2) tetanus!
1 - *SIGH* Candy Hooter
2 - Aren't schools already year-round, what with summer classes & whatnots?
3 - Depends on the extent of the damage done done.
@starmanjones -
Err... nah... it's far too
obvious to respond with
a "kitty whipped" joke.
A. Princess Cheeks. kinda lame, but whatever.
B. I think it should be year round, but there should still be a form of summer break like three weeks so that it doesn't seem like such a long break to forget information. China and probably most of the world is beating our ass in education so we should do something to keep up with everyone else. ... I was going to rant more on education here, but I'll stop haha
C. Grazed by a bullet, because that would have a better story to share than how I stepped on a rusty nail. That shit's boring, yo.
1. Montana Whip
2. No. Children should not be made to go to school all year, but learning should occur year round.
3. grazed? is runaway an option?
A) Montana Whip, according to my Xanga handle. Kinky.
B) No, but I wouldn't be opposed to lots of homework given over the break.
C) I'd rather be grazed by a bullet and have the ability to run than limp away from a "safe" place ><
Princess Bob, and you know I am no good at these aptitude tests. Couldn't we just go back to pissing on a monkey? That was more fun.
A) Fantasia Sizzle
B)Maybe, I don't know. I haven't really been in a year-round so I don't know the benefits of it or the negative parts about it. But it might be better because they won't have a chance to forget what they learned? *shrug*
C) Bullet, less chance of getting an infection whereas with the nail you'd have a greater chance because of the rust. Healing process is also much quicker and don't have to be limping.
a.) Fantasia Horn
b.) no, school isn't everything, and doesn't offer much "real life" experience at all. There are other important things kids need to learn mostly about themselves. Maybe they can get a summer job. College student may even NEeD the time to work financially.(Actually I also think kids should only have half days, as it used to be when I was young. There's homework for the afternoon, and they can study by themselves too.)
c.) grazed by a bullet, I imagine it is very quick, so the pain isn't as bad. You don't have to tear it out again either.
1.) Princes Horn ( I don't even know what that means, I don't think I was cut out to be a stripper)
2.) Yes - I don't know why but if I had to do it over I would home school my kids
3.) Grazed by a bullet - I've only been grazed by a bb but it wasn't nearly as bad as having your arch impaled by a rusty nail or the trouble that follows
princess whip?!?
schools... i'm torn... i see advantages, but also think kids just need to have time to lay on their backs in the long green grass and watch the puffy white clouds pass them by on a sunny bright blue sky...
i've done the nail - both on the foot and had one shot through and lodged in my left middle finger (a nailer misfired while i was framing a door jamb on the ground)... i was taken to the er, xrays and all that - and after about three hours i asked what the hell was taking so long... they couldn't find a pair of pliers to pull the nail out with...
0..0
A. Mimi Horn haha that is so crappy. I want a better stripper name!!
B. No, I like the way school is set up now. I loved school and my holidays when I was younger!
C. I'd rather step on a rust nail (I actually have before haha) but it's more likely to be an accident around the house or something. But being grazed by a bullet is so scary! It could mean that you are being shot at, or someone that you know. Could cause more than just physical wounds.
A. Bunny Whip
C. Rusty nail... actually, now that I think about it, I think that happened to me when I was a kid... or maybe it was my sister... well, either way, to quote Michael Scott, "Ouchieee!"
A- Heidi Hooter
B- if schools were fun and the pupils actually got to learn all that is worth learning, then yes.
A. Candy Whip sounds like confectionary!
B. No to year around schools. Kids need time to be kids. Parents schedule & structure their lives enough. Let them go play outside!
C. I'd rather be grazed by a bullet. At least you could walk & you'd have a muchbetter story to tell! Ü
a. Roxie Horn
b. Nah, only because I know how much I looked forward to Summer break, and I can't imagine how horrified kids would be if that time was taken away. Also, I think that people just say that kids don't retain all the information they learned during the school year because they don't want to admit their kids are just stupid. If kids are taught the right way, they will remember what they've been taught.
c. I'd be grazed by a bullet, just to earn the street cred. I wouldn't sound nearly as cool if I said I pierced my foot with a rusty nail. And also, bullets are clean, RUSTY nail has the potential for all types of infections, and I don't know if I've had my tetanus shot. Lol.
