Fox News Airs an Actually Interesting Interview
Someone sent me this link on facebook. I watched it and couldn't believe that FOX News aired this interview. Neil Cavuto interviews someone who thinks that the state of Israel has messed up the world. The strange thing is that the person being interviewed is a rabbi.
Sort of interesting how he uses his Scripture to say that there should be no Israel.

A weird opinion for a rabbi but also quite interesting! (Is he real? lol)
Not really that odd, just like Christianity Judaism has people on all sides. I'm shocked Fox broadcast however, it goes against King George doesn't it?
Very interesting. It is true that the creation of the Jewish state has caused a lot of pain and suffering for Jews and Muslims alike, as well as for their respective allies. But created it was, and too late for any peaceful dismantling. I do think that if we told Israel that we regretfully abrogate all treaties with them, as we have our own troubles, that they would be forced to bargain more realistically with the people who were, quite frankly, treated in the same manner that the Jews have been treated throughout the years.

Yes, he is real. The rabbi I knew didn't like the way the US supported Israel no matter what the situation. He thought that like the in the Old Testament times, that Israel should be free of foreign influences.
@godfatherofgreenbay - I see. A smart rabbi!

I think my shock is that it goes against the Bush royal family. At the comissioning of the USS George H.W. Bush this weekend, King George the 41st was saying how he is encouraging Jeb to make a run in 2012. CAN'T WAIT!
The rabbi quotes the Talmud. I have this suspicion that some of FOX News' viewers wouldn't know the difference between that book and the Bible.

Or a Captain America comic...

To me Israel reminds me of some kids that were at my school. A kid in the 3rd grade would run his mouth and pick on everyone and when people got tired and started to retaliate then he got his brother in 8th grade who was 6'3" and about 275. So Israel is like that little kid going around and pissing off all the Arab nations and then when they start to take action, Israel comes to the U.S. for help so the Arab nations back down. I do hope that this new administration changes that idea that Israel can do no wrong.
It all started with Truman who wanted the U.S. to pump millions of dollars into Israel annually so that in case Jesus came back, he could see that we were helping his people and he would be more lenient in his judgment against America. The strange thing is that in all the depictions of Jesus, I always thought he looked German.
@godfatherofgreenbay - You've been to too many Lutheran churches
The first thing that hit me about that particular little story (about Truman) is this: Wouldn't you think, as a Christian (collective you, not you personally), that Jesus/God would see RIGHT through that? That He would know the *reason* why we were pumping $$$ into Isreal? I mean, it's basically trying to pull one over on God.

Well I personally know that but not all Christians practice the teachings of Christ. He said you were saved by your faith alone and nothing else. Some church bodies have added that in order to be saved you have to do good work so in a sense you save yourself through the amount of work that you do. So by giving money to Israel it is a collective way to do good works thus helping those escape working in the afterlife in a non-Biblical locale such as purgatory.
@godfatherofgreenbay - That's interesting. So if one were to follow the whole actions instead of faith thing, does that mean you believe your good actions get you into heaven even if your intentions were rotten?
@ithiliya -
I would suppose so. I don't mean to point fingers but some Christian churches use good works as a way to explain how all people will get into heaven and even after death they can still work off their bad points.
@godfatherofgreenbay - I didn't think that's how that worked. Wow. I always figured you had to have good or at least neutral intentions while doing those good works, that good works alone wouldn't really mean squat.
"Bad points"! Ha. For some reason I got this image of a really large bearded man holding a clipboard going "Well, you snuck out of your house when you were 14... so that's one point in the 'bad' category... and you volunteered for the NEW Zoo Boo so that's one point in the 'good' category... then again, you volunteered to dress up as a witch for the Boo, so that's a little suspect, plus you jumped out of the bushes and scared all those kids... I think I'm going to have to retract that 'good' point..." *LOL*
@ithiliya -
well that's not a bad description of how one church teaches about making up for sin. Certain sins will run you a seven year sentence in purgatory while other sins will run you two years. I think because of all the time I've been alone that I must have run up about a million year sentence.
