  • Motivation

I am hating this economy.  I have heard back from about 5 schools to which I applied for teaching positions.  They are all saying the same story: that the position I applied for is not going to be filled but due to budget problems and lack of funding will be covered internally thus creating greater workload for present teachers and increased student to teacher ratio.  So because everything is failing, the kids have to suffer as well.  The economy is fucking up the education but I don't think the economic impact will do the amount of damage No Child Left Behind did to the American education system.  NCLB fucked things royally up the ass without lube.  Sorry, that's graphic but I am just tired of this shit.  OK all better.  Actually, I'm not all better and won't be all better until this new education plan is unveiled so I can see how the education system will "change".  NCLB needs to be left behind...actually it needs to be taken out to the pasture and told to go fetch a stick and then when it is running to fetch it should get a shotgun slug in the back of the skull.  OK....calm....don't want the blood pressure to go back up because I did get it down 60 points....alright...here's your weekly dose of motivation.

Well that is all for this week.  I hope you enjoyed and that you found the motivation to do whatever it is that you do.

  • the job market is junk for IT personnel too...

  • It's the same here, education is where they look first when they want to save money.

  • The economy is just all kinds of screwed up these days.

  • I need that motivation, thank you. Funny photos, once again, they made my day.
And thank you for that kind comment you left at my page, I hope to write better.
Thanks for staying :) I hope all is well with you.

  • Your blog is always a pleasure :)

  • ROFL Nuns they have tits too.... PRICELESS!!!!

  • my mom is actually dealing with a lot of that gov garbage since she's on the ass end of the stick being in a coop with special needs kids and for some reason they always cut her fund's first thing no matter whats going on in the government.

I am sorry to hear about your employment problem though that really freaking sucks.
none of what is going on can last forever it has to get better at some point
(unless that's just me being freakishly over optimistic lol)

I don't know any job market that isn't struggling except maybe funeral homes or repossession and collection agencies.

I just love how all the old men make the decisions and the kids suffer. We need to buy more bombs and fighter jets...lets cut music programs from schools. We need a raise so lets cut art. Oh and we need to have air conditioning and heat set at 72F year round so lets cut math. The school are cutting so much to keep programs active that it's no wonder why American students are lagging behind the rest of the world.

  • @BeautifulDirtx -

Yeah and it won't be getting any better any time soon.

  • @M_S_T_A -

It really made me think because I had never seen nuns that way before.

  • @Olyachka -

Thank you...so you're on vacation and you find to read my blog? I feel so honored.

  • @choralone -

Ah..yes, I forgot to include the special education programs. There are some schools that have been so terrified by No Child Left Behind and that if they don't meet certain standardized test scores that they won't get funding so they expel the special needs students because tehy might bring down the average grade. There was a report recently about how home-schooling is on the rise and it's not because people hate the public school system as much as it is about the "dummies" being expelled so the schools won't lose funding.

I am hoping things pick up soon. Didn't Batman once say, "It's darkest before the dawn"?

  • I love these.  Thanks for starting my day off with a smile.

  • @curiousdwk -

    I am glad you enjoyed.

  • Im a little scared to guess if it will get worse... they claim unemployment may increase to 11%. Its everything... schools, hospitals, restaurants, I cant even get a job at the grocery store or library.

Im also in a small town... that already had minimal oppertunity. Maybe you could go back to school for something? Something that would give you a fighting edge in your teaching skillz?

  • @theladyofabundance -

I am looking at trying to get extra certification and also adding some classes for licencesure so I can teach more than social studies and english in middle school and high school.

  • @anth0nyc -

Thanks, I love those demotivational style posters.

  • Hang in there. You'll eventually find something soon.
And, the pole vaulting one is classic LOL! My brother is a pole-vaulter. He's competing with the Canadian team for Olympics. I should really tease him about being a "stripper" <-- I got that one, courtesy of Kachino. LOL

  • @mZdejavuZ -

Yeah like Batman said, "It's darkest right before the dawn."
That's awesome about your brother competing with the Canadian Olympic team.
    And that Kachino...man, he's everywhere.

  • Man, I didn't know nuns were like that...

  • @kachino -

You'd be surprised. It's not like they are Barbie dolls underneath the uniform. Do you read ESPN Magazine?

  • @godfatherofgreenbay -

LOL, true that. No, I don't read ESPN magazine but should I?

  • @kachino -

It's a pretty decent read. Last wee's issue had the rankings of the best franchises in MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL. The Angels were #1 overall and the Brewers were #7 and the Packers were #13. I forgot were the Vikings fell but the funny part was the poll were they asked fans about which sports location was the overall best. The XCel Center in St. Paul was #1 and Lambeau was #3. The Metrodome was like #118. I think they have more about those rankings on the ESPN website.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay -

... And, speak of the devil, here he is again ... ;)

  • @godfatherofgreenbay -

Oh nice! I definitely look at it since I love reading about sport rankings ;) . I'm so not surprised about the Metrodump being that far away.

    @mZdejavuZ -

Man, why do you always have to talk about me behind my back? ;)

  • @kachino -

ROFL!! ... I don't... =*_*= Only on random occasions that warrants itself ;)

  • @kachino -

I sense sarcasm in your answer but it is fascinating especially with the prices of tickets and concessions. I think if a fan wanted to go to every Yankees home game and sit in the cheapest seat it would cost over $8000 for the year. There was also something about the value of beer and they even broke it down how much it cost per ounce. I think the beers at Fenway were the most at $7.25 for a 12 ounce beer.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay -

No, no sarcasm at all. Yeah I know about ridiculously expensive concessions. At the Bell Center in Montreal, the beer is like CAN 9.50$ for 355 ml.

  • @kachino -

It's ridiculous that they charge so much for beer. When I would go to Twins games I never drank beer because first off I was usually by myself and I needed a level-head driving through downtown Minneapolis but also it was expensive and in plastic bottles. Plastic makes it taste pretty nasty. The brewery in the town where I went to college paid a lot of money to have one of their beers featured at Twins games but the they said that if they wanted to serve it it had to come in plastic bottles so the brewery had to spend even more money to start a new plastic bottling process.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay -

Yeah, that's why I never drink beer at sporting events. Way too expensive. WHAT? Beer in plastic bottles? Seriously? I've never seen that.

  • @kachino -

The funny thing is about plastic bottles is that Miller and Budweiser has developed those as well. They aren't everywhere. I think the only places I have seen plastic bottles are in liquor stores near major state parks or at sporting events. In Minnesota there are laws that prohibits any glass bottles from being used in the state or city parks so if you want beer you have to bring it in inside a plastic bottle.
