  • Monday Morning Mash-Up Madness 8/3

I didn't do a Celebrity Round-Up this week because I had company and I didn't want to disappoint them even though I did by my lack of finding them Amish quilts.  If only they had stayed until Saturday morning to see the farmers market.  the Amish brought out quilts and all that fun stuff but no sheets with holes.  I have a lot of photos I have taken over the past few weeks that I need to share with my great readers as well.  Well I thought first up I would do some more mash-ups or audio porn.  I hope you enjoy these.

This one contains so many songs.  It's sensory overload.  Stevie Wonder - "Superstition"; Cypress Hill - "Insane in the Brain"; Toadies - "Possum Kingdom:; Wild Cherry - "Play That Funky Music"; Belle & Sebastian - "If She Wants Me"; Phish - "Tweezer"

This one is a little Beastie Boys vs. Joan Jett.  "No Sleep til Brooklyn" vs "I Love Rock and Roll".  At first listen, I didn't realize it was a mash-up.  It sounded just right.

OK this one is "Machine Gun" by The Commodores vs "Gimme Shelter" by The Rolling Stones.  When I first heard this song I was dancing.  I was dancing like a madman.  I was trying to mimic the dance scene from Boogie Nights when they play this song.  God, I love that movie.

Anyway, I hope everyone had an excellent weekend.

  • I really liked number 6. i kind of wish there was a way i could steal it and put it on a personal cd. the 7th one i couldn't listen to. i really don't like the beastie boys. *throws up right now* lol
the last one sounds a bit like 80s kids show intro until the singing starts.

  • Not bad, not bad at all.

  • I can't listen to these, as I am at work, but will when I get home. They sound awesome and who can resist dancing like boogie nights?

  • My first post started with lol just out of pure habit. I don't think I know how to start a post without it... so I deleted and started right back over, darnit!

    I love mashups though. :)

Oh come on the Beastie Boys are great, especially they recent stuff.

I am trying to figure out which show that sounds like.

  • @NoGraySunflowers -

I hope you got to hear these. Yes, Boogie Nights...I just don't think I could do the dancing on roller skates.

I noticed that it said you left two comments. Well I am glad you enjoy these. I still remember the first time I heard Freelance Hellraiser and his mash-up of "Genie in a Bottle" mixed with "Last Nite" by the Strokes.

  • Speaking of quilting... I want to learn! My grandmother made me some basic quilts for which I love to death! I'd like to think I could do the same...

I might achieve knitting one day... but God, some of the things people knit are so useless.

My mom has made me a couple afghans. One I just love but so do my cats and they have clawed a hole into it. She also made two afghans for children of my friends. I think she is going to try to knit them sweaters or maybe a dress for my goddaughter. Oh and speaking of useless things, back when I was a kid I had the Pound Puppies and she knitted a sweater for one of the dogs and then it ended up fitting my cat so he wore it.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - *lol* The cat wore it? I got my brother's dog a Hawaiian shirt that was velcro down the front, but it looked like it was buttoned. It was adorable! Animals wearing clothes can either look insulting for the animal, or all around hilarious.

My cat has also put a few snags and small tears in my grandmother's quilt. I wish there was a way to make them stop that, but Im not sure. I trim her nails regularly.

  • @theladyofabundance -

I trim my cats nails at least once a month but they still manage to put a hole in it. And the way they do it freaks me out because they will jump on me as I sleep with it covering and then they will do the kneading. It's like they are trying to get milk out of me.

Yeah I have thought that some clothing on animals is demeaning. There was a website I found that had animals in clothing and you could tell they were not happy. My cat loved that sweater but he went mad when my mom tried to dress him as a clown. I don't blame him; clowns are terrifying. I was at Walmart the other night and I was getting litter and food and I saw they had shirts for dogs and one of them said "Homewrecker". I laughed and these two old ladies just stared at me.
