  • Motivation

I asked a question in my posts today.  It was "By what age should a child be fully potty-trained?"  The question is based on my weekend.  No, I didn't revert to an infantile state.  It is my cousin.  To keep from writing a long winded post, I'll just simplify things.  He just turned 5 years old and he isn't potty-trained.  After his birthday party, he went up to his mother for a hug and he pissed on her.  WTF?  We went out for brunch on Sunday morning and he got out of his chair and stood and took a crap in his pants.  It's not that he can't or that he is different or what have you, it's his parents.  They are lazy as fuck.  They pawn him off on everyone so they can go around and lead their creepy lifestyle of Wii and puppetry at a Schwarmerei church (thank you Martin Luther).  Anyway, they also have one of my aunts living with them and she pays their bills and rent on a lakefront house.  They live off her pension and social security.  Basically she is the kid's mother.  It just pissed me off so much.  Oh and to make matters worse.  The father asked me dad to spot him some money because the party threw was quite expensive and he needed to make ends meet.  He asked on Saturday evening and when we went over Sunday morning to meet for breakfast, I noticed that they bought new games for their Wii; ganes which totaled the amount of money my dad gave them.  How do I know it was his money?  I just figure since they left the recepit next to the game system and it had been purchased that evening.  There is just so much more that I could write about but I don't want to aggrivate things and they are family so I am obligated to love them.  I couldn't keep it bottled up any longer.  It exploded tonight when my mom took me out for ribs.  They came in a big metal bucket and were all you can eat, all for the low price of $10.  Ribs make me happy.

Here's your weekly dose of motivation:

Well I hope you are now motivated.  I actually am cooling off.  My blood pressure rises when I think of what my cousins are doing to their child and their mother, my aunt.

40 years ago...I am somewhat anxious to see that movie about Woodstock.

    Völker, hört die Signale!

  • I hate that people are so lazy and greedy these days. I'm sure it's been around forever as far as human conditioning is concerned but seeing it when there are so many ways to not be that way is crazy. my brother is the same way with money. my fathers going to speak to him about it these week whenever he is sober.
hope you have a good day!

  • That's pathetic about your relatives and their poor kid, wonder how he'll turn out. There's a growing class of people in society I've noticed who are like that, professional lazy bastards and moochers. It's a symptom of progressive civilization I suppose. Back say 100 years ago most people had to work their asses off just to put food on the table. Now there's too much safety; you can slack off in this society and not die as a result. Others will be there to pull your weight for you. I dread to think what will happen if America goes too far to the left and everybody thinks they are owed a comfortable lifestyle for free. That would be the end to freedom and we would all be singing Die Internationale like so many have before.

LOL the Ford and GI Joe ones!

  • He's 5 and not trained yet??? How the hell is he even going to go to school?? Most school's make that a REQUIREMENT. That's so wrong I can't even find the words...

  • I had a niece that was almost three before she was potty trained in the official sense, she would change her own diaper and throw away the dirty one.
Bright self motivated kid that was just a little stubborn.
Who says your obligated to love them?
It was your dad's money, directly or indirectly. Don't keep it bottled up, the worst/best thing that could happen is that they don't have anything to do with you anymore.

  • Somewhere on this globe, every ten seconds, there is a woman giving birth to a child. She must be found and stopped... hehehe, j/k!

  • lyke i sed 2 to 18yrz & if the ishue reely iz mom & dad they shud be reportid cuz ther ar ONLY two rezunz for not bein traynd by 5 neglekt or sum fizzyologikul problem the chyld needzta be delt with cuz the soshul preshur iz gunna slap him hard & that will be uncool fer shur

    poor kid jeeeez

  • Holy smokes!!! A kid should be potty trained by 2 or so I thought. He's going to get the shit beat out of him in school if he's still pulling that in grade 4. I think I've found more in a bag lady or homeless guy rooting through garbage, picking up bottles to cash in that those parents that conned your Dad. At least they DO something to try and make some money. Leech, lamprey, eel, parasites, living off of an elderly lady like that is pathetic. I just hope they don't win the lottery but the way things go.......

I think I'm going to pull out all of my Hendrix albums and get a 12 pack into me. If I get evicted, I'm blaming you.
heheheheheheheh Just kiddin' You just gave me the motivation I needed. I haven't listened to my stereo in almost 2 years.

  • I hate when people are compette jerks, idoits, mean, stupid and cruel.

  • A 5 year old should really be taught to use the restroom but if it's any comfort I cater a lot of weddings and I have yet to see one in which the groom is not potty trained so even with the worst of parents they do somehow eventually figure it all out.

  • A lot of people have their children potty trained by 2.5 and at the latest 3.5. Ugh, people need to stop being so lazy. Seriously, don't have kids if you don't want to be responsible for someone else. When you're barely making ends meet you don't get to have luxuries or you won't have a home! Your aunt needs to leave them hanging and take care of the child only. Okay, this is making me mad so I'm going to go on to the posters now.

Oh, I always look forward to motivation posts! Ding dong is freakin scary. I got the 70s poster and I did lol!

  • Kids need to start at between 3-5 years old when they are big enough to sit on a potty. I'd sure hate it if some kid peed on me.

  • LOL at that picture of Chima.... I think generally kids should be potty trained before 5, before they get into school.

  • these are very thinspirational

  • This is where you should probably talk to the kid himself in front of his parents the next time you see him do it.  Act shocked, tell him you can't believe he did that at his age, he's a big boy and should now how to use the toilet like one.  Don't yell.  That's too overpowering to a little kid.  Just make your disgust EXTREMELY clear.  And then tell him to go and clean himself up right away before anyone else sees him because that's really gross.

He really does need to feel ashamed of himself for this (shame does have its important uses) and he needs to take responsibility for himself.  Try to dissaude anyone there from helping him out.  Just give him what he needs (wipes, clean underwear, someone to watch him, not do it for him) and make it clear that he needs to clean himself up before he gets to have lunch, watch television, play games, whatever lure it takes.

Not be a busybody or anything, but when you see debilitating behaviour - which his and his parents is - it should be openly communicated about or it isn't likely to be solved.  You know?

  • Huh.  I can't edit my post and I posted too soon.  I just wanted to add that him having to clean himself up will take a reward factor out of his bad habit.  It sounds like his parents don't give him enough attention so he probably enjoys being changed and cleaned up by an adult he wants to care for him.  It's attention and its obviously positive for him.  He needs to get his attention from doing good things rather than disgusting things.  Andy kid will take attention wherever they can get it.  They need it.

  • @NightlyDreams -

It was ok, I hope your day was enjoyable.

  • @UR_MUSE -

Ah yes...all of us singing Die Internationale. I still enjoy walking around the second hometown late at night after the foreigners get done work. I would hear them singing old Communist standards.

I think what is the worst part of that kid's parents is that the dad is on worker's comp. He fell down at his job and hasn't been working since January. Well he didn't look hurt and his back was good enough for him to carry stuff around at the party and lift his child. I need to become one of those corporate spies.

  • @SladeTheGreyFox -

Yeah, I couldn't keep my disgust bottle up any longer. Around where I live potty training is a pre-requisite to attend Head Start. He went through that and then through preschool. Thankfully he was held back in preschool partly because he wasn't fully trained.

  • @ElevenStones -

I am just going to stay far away from them and in my state. If they come to visit my family here then maybe I will make an appearance but I don't see myself going back there.

  • @RestlessButterfly -

Well thankfully my cousin announced loudly that she was on birth control so that is a plus.

  • @pansybradshaw -

I honestly don't think the kid has any friends. They invited so many for his party but the only kids that showed up were family members. I really feel sorry for him. It sucks that he had to get stuck with them as his parents.

  • @dikdoktor -

I broke out some of my Jimi today and was blaring my favorite song by him, "Red House".

I feel so bad for that kid. You bring up getting conned by homeless. One night a friend and I were heading to a strip club in downtown Minneapolis and this guy approached us and asked for money. He said he was a student at a Lutheran college and his car broke down on the interstate exit which was in eyesight and we saw a car on the exit with its hazards on. Well I gave him a couple bucks. We kept walking, got our lap dances, and then decided to hit a dive bar further up the street. There he was sitting at the bar. He makes eye contact with me and sees how pissed off I am becoming and he took off running. Guess he didn't want to mess with a 6'4" guy with no neck.

  • @embrown88 -

Yes, I hate compette people too.

  • @echois23 -

LOL...thanks for that bit of comfort.

  • @TiRocKiinPiinK -

I don't know how that is going to work out with her taking care of that child. she has been fairly sick and in and out of the hospital in the last year or so.

Oh and that Ding Dong one is of a contestant on Big Brother. She was kicked out by the producers because she failed to comply with the rules of the game. Like she destroyed a microphone by throwing it in a whirlpool. It made no sense why she did that but oh well.

  • @KimOngJr -

I was sitting there playing with him right before he did that. I am so thankful I got up to get a drink.

  • @AlterEgo909 -

I laughed so hard when I heard that she got kicked out or left from the show. I do understand why she was feeling the way she did but it is still a game and one of the catch phrases of Big Brother is to expect the unexpected. I just can't believe people voted to give that tool Jeff the power.

Somehow the kid got into and through Head Start without being potty trained. He also made it through one year of preschool. Well the teacher said he needed to be held back partly because of the potty training.

  • @MetalicTempest -

I have been asking how I can sign up for a deal like that. Plus the dad is on worker's comp so he doesn't really do a damn thing other than collect his check and play Wii.

  • @Ampbreia -

Thank you for that. The last time they came up to visit my family I did make mention of how he was eating and said that big boys don't eat like that. I also pulled his mom aside and asked her what the kid's teacher and speech therapist thought of her speaking to him in baby talk. Thankfully she no longer does that.

  • Thanks.  I like the one on the next generation of voters.  I think that Democracy is a great idea as long as it doesn't include everyone voting.  (smile)  The current crop of voters isn't much better, I'm afraid, which is obvious because of the health care misunderstandings.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay -

You didn't want Jeff to get the power? I voted for a him a bunch of times lol. Chima responded so childishly to the game, she threw her mic in the pool! In reality, she should have been kicked out, they showed clips of her from DAY 4 refusing to go to the diary room or put on her mic. She was too much of a diva.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay -

There was this one really suspicious bag lady in Toronto making about $300 to $500 a day panhandling downtown. She had a really good spot and would chase others away from her turf. A reporter followed her, saw her take off her disguise, get into a $40,000.00 van and drive to her actual home. She owned a decent house and all of it was an act. Anyways, she is now up in Montreal doing the same thing - she was spotted by another reporter up there that knew the guys here in Toronto. Unbelievable!!! They figured she made over $2000.00 a week, for years! Maybe I should pull out my wheelchair and park my ass downtown with a tin cup.

  • @curiousdwk -

It's funny how many people criticize the health care bill and haven't read a single page of the bill. They just rely on the fear mongers of the RNC and the the puppetmasters of the RNC to give them misinformation.

  • @AlterEgo909 -

To be honest, I don't really care for anyone in the house. They all just seem like sleazy people. Jeff to me is the worst because he si the type of guy that comes to my hometown on the weekends "looking for a piece". Yes, I live in a tourist town that is swamped with people from Illinois. Jeff is the embodiment of all those people. Let's see...Jordan can't divide and seems to be an airhead...Natalie hasn't been called out on her claiming to be 18 and she hid behind Jesse...Kevin is a diva to me and hasn't really played the game...Michelle seems so arrogant...Russell is a bully...Braden was a racist...Chima was too much of a spoiled brat...Casey was so fake and such a wannabe, he's an old guy trying to act 18...Laura was fake in two big ways...Ronnie I don't know where to begin with that guy but my mom thought when she first saw him that he was the first special needs contestant because she thought he looked like he had Down's Syndrome...Jesse is a meathead and didn't deserve to be back in the house...Lydia has irritated me since Jesse left but she may be the only one that I have enjoyed watching but I am probably saying that with my emotions.

  • @dikdoktor -

I have heard that too but not in Toronto. There was actually a sting operation of sorts by a Madison TV station that followed panhandlers that set up around the state capitol building. They watched these people get hundreds of dollars and then get in fancy cars and go to decent homes. Turned out they were making more than I made. It pissed me off to no ends. I want to become a bum if it is that lucrative.

  • I can't read the caption under the first pic. Ding Dong....?

You know, my oldest was 4 before he was COMPLETELY potty-trained, which is a little late, but...I totally think that he regressed when he was 3 and I gave birth to his brother. That happens sometimes. I really do think that 5 is VERY late...and especially in the way that you're describing the situation. It doesn't sound like "he's not potty-trained". It sounds more like he is acting out. Face it, by the time you're 5, it's not "going potty" anymore....especially if it's not taking place on the potty! I feel bad for the kid. He needs help, and is asking for it via these inappropriate "slips" in toileting.

    I still don't feel motivated.

  • @Another_Perfect_Wonder -

The Witch is done...she is a contestant on Big Brother and she was kicked out because of her unwillingness to comply to the game's rules.

Hmmm what you say makes sense. I know he isn't regressing because of a sibling because he is an only child so this is probably his way of getting attention.

Sorry I didn't motivate you. I will try better next time.

  • Megan Fox = Wonder Woman

Meh, after seeing that poster, I'm starting to believe that acting skills are overrated ;)

BTW, I LOVE "Red House".  I recently made a playlist on my iPod inspired by True Blood, and had to throw that song on there.  Nums.

  • @ithiliya -

Oh yes, Megan with overrated acting skills. I am sure those are what is getting her all these roles.

You know you have me thinking about blues and smoking. I wonder if I were to have an impromptu performance at my house, in my backyard and get the OK from my neighbors, if smoking would be ok or even if we have it in my house and I "sell" beer because technically in Wisconsin when you give someone a beer it is considered a sale.
