An attempt
Can anyone out there
Understand all those dark desires and
Needs that I as a man crave
No one out there gets it
I am searching for the one
Lately that has been difficult
Impossible as some may say
No matches, no love
Gonna be alone the rest of my days
Unless by sheer luck…maybe
Some day but not today
Inspired by Song of Songs 7:2 שררך אגן הסהר אל יחסר המזג

That is a cool poem, I totally get you
well done.
Ah l'amour. it so rough to find someone. Is this your attempt at poetry?
dude, i feel ya.
You got that right.
your words make me teary eyed.
dude, you're too freakin awesome not to find a kick ass chick. it ll happen. just wait. you won't even see it coming.
My sentiments exactly. And the Bible can be used for inspiration for more than just Platonic love or felial love, or spousal love. It can also inspire sensual love (especially Song of Solomon) and also the longing for sensual love.
@darkarin88 - I'm with you. The people out here who search, and search, and SEARCH never find what they want. They have to stop SEARCHING, accept and like themselves for who they are, and stop feeling like not having a romantic partner is the end of the world. When that clicked for me, I started having to beat the men away with a stick!
yeah. sadly, i know what you mean...
Lets see....where do you live again? I have an unmarried daughter..... seriously, though, that was a good poem.
Nicely done
Though you'll have to practice on rhyming words more and it will float out!
An Obama Dress???? LOL...
I understand. I think anyone that doesn't have someone (the right someone) is able to understand this. I personally have had so few relationships I am more at ease single than with someone though I still would like to be with someone.
@no1charmerlondon -
Thank you
@walden_thoreau -
Thank you
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas -
Well it was an attempt at two things. One attempt was a certain form of poetry but if I say which I feel I may lose readership. The other thing I was attempting was how to express how I have been feeling.
@oulck -
That is great to know...thanks
@dirtbubble -
Well I was hoping someone would see it.
@carolinaatnight -
Oh don't do that.
@darkarin88 -
Yeah it's just that I am getting to damn impatient waiting.
@curiousdwk -
And take a second look at the beginning letters of the poem and then the Hebrew verse uses a word that the English King James translation butchered. It is a word that means "secret place" and basically was a word for vuvla. So the verse reads something like "your secret place is filled with the sweetest of wines".
@morbidcoronerchick -
I don't know if I completely buy that. You can't sit around waiting for something to be given to you. It's not how life works.
@Peridot21 -
Yeah...oh well, I have air in my lungs therefore life goes on.
@joiwinds -
Thank you
@starrynite45 -
Well not all poetry needs rhyme to be considered poetry. Poetry is more of a conveying of emotions.
@rickystar1 -
Yeah it's funny how the have made so many products bearing President Obama's image. A dress is not the strangest thing I have seen bearing his image.
@NightlyDreams -
I can understand that. I mean I don't have to be complete but it is the idea of companionship among other things.
@godfatherofgreenbay -
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha LMAO!
Ahh. The nectar of the gods.
@godfatherofgreenbay - I am rereading my comment and I hope I didn't come off like a jerk. I was just curious if that was what the title of the blog was referring to. and I feel ya man. everyone seems to be pairing up around me and it blows. but you seem like a nice guy and you're funny. I'm sure you'll find a girl.
@morbidcoronerchick -
EXACTLY!! its like you became numba 1 hot momma right? and its because you ARE! you just have to realize it!
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas -
I sort of came off like a prick in my answer...anyway ummm I guess why I am worried is because I was having all these mixed emotions when I was storming this in my head and I had read some of my Hebrew bible specifically the verse mentioned above then being the typical male that I am it came out in the form of an acrostic poem.
@godfatherofgreenbay - lol. so we both came off douchey in our comments.
and oh okay. actually I like the poem. I'm not really good at poetry and for the most part I hate writing it, because I don't know the first thing about the different styles, I'm more of a short story or essay kind of girl, but a few of my friends on here write a lot of poetry so I've been giving it a shot lately.
and you read hebrew?
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas -
In case you didn't look at it again, an acrostic is where the first letter of each line form a word. And you could have fooled me about not being good at poetry from some of the things I have read.
Yes, in case I haven't given you any of my autobiographical info, I was a former minister. I had this thing about saying, "This is what God's Word says" and not being able to read the original languages to see what it ACTUALLY says and not what an English translator may have butchered. Song of Songs is a beautiful book. It is like a conversation of love letters between a man and woman. Well I was reading Song of Songs and that verse mentioned above. The English translates a Hebrew word as "navel" but the actual meaning of the Hebrew word is "secret place" which well is a little lower than the belly button and given the context it makes more sense because the verse in English says "your navel is rounded like a cup filled with the sweetest of wines". Well anyway that is background. I am frustrated being alone and I read that verse and expressed emotions and mixed it with the probable hidden meaning of the Bible verse in the original language...I hope that is a little more understandable.
@godfatherofgreenbay - Yeah, sometimes you have to work for what you want, Matt, but love isn't one of the things you should work for unless you're in a fucked up relationship which you want to try to save.
@darkarin88 - *high five*
Lol. I just looked closer at your poem. I think it was pretty late when I read it originally. haha I'm kind of an insomniac.
fuck me that's a bit pervy. lol.
also, you did mention being a former minister. I think that it's really cool that you read hebrew. actually it's kind of hot. not going to lie.
song of songs is a beautiful book. I've read bits and pieces. so it originally says "secret place." interesting...
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas -
So that is why I was a little worried about people reading this...I was being serious yet at the same time as you put it being a "bit pervy".
I studied Hebrew with a rabbi in Minneapolis. They offered it at my college but it wasn't available to me because I was in a different track.
ah. don't be worried. it's a good poem and it has a bit of cheekiness to it. I like it.
and that's really cool. I've always wanted to learn hebrew, arabic and chinese. I actually studied chinese in high school, but I'm absolute crap at languages. I don't put enough effort. the only reason I know spanish is because it would be a crying shame if I didn't.
lol.
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas -
Well thank you.
My high school only offered German, Spanish, and Latin. You could only take Latin freshman and sophomore years. Then German and Spanish were only available to juniors and seniors and then you could only take one. I read about all these other languages offered and feel like I missed out. I was reading how one guy was taking high school Russian. I had to wait until I was working in the Dells to learn that. Chinese would be awesome to learn especially with that country's growing influence. And don't worry about the Spanish, I knew a guy whose family speaks Spanish as their primary language yet he failed the class in high school.
the high school I went to focused on math, language and science (ie it was a nerd school
). they taught latin, spanish, french, chinese and japanese. I thought learning chinese would make me badass. then I went to college and they only offered japanese at my school. kind of to appease all the anime freaks. I took 2 semesters. I can only remember really random things. "minasan, watashiwa no mite kudasai." "everyone look at me please." it makes sense. I am very self absorbed.
a few friends of mine took russian in high school as well. I thought that was cool. I was kind of pissed they didn't offer it at mine.
so wait do you speak russian as well?
and yes I'm sure he failed spanish. I know tons of people whose parents speak only spanish and yet they cannot. It bothers me. I wish I could learn tons and tons of languages and some people can barely speak the one language they've grown up with. lol.
I hope I'm not being long winded. I just can't sleep.
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas -
I speak a few languages and many of them are what I picked up working in the Dells from all the European workers: Russian, Polish, Czech(misnomer because my actual hometown has many Czech speakers because it is the Czech Capital of WI), Yugoslavian, Turkish, and I would include Macedonian and Bulgarian but those are so similar to Yugoslavian....me+language=nerd.
I enjoy talking, it's just that I had to try to get some sleep last night so I wouldn't be a zombie during the Bible class I teach as well as church.
=/
Lurve the poem.
No. Not nerd. It=Totally awesome.
I wish I could just pick up languages like that. You know a lot of eastern european languages. That's really cool.
And yeah. I'm an insomniac. I function on like 3 hours of sleep. So I can go all night. (I feel like that's an opening for a really bad "that's what she said" joke. Lol)
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas -
For me the eastern European languages came easy after having my training in German. Then they all fell in line...could make a bad German history joke here but I won't. So many are derived from each other just like people say if you learn Spanish then Italian and French are easier to pick up since they all are derived from Latin.
I had the sleeping problems and from time to time I still do. There would be stretches of days where I would go without sleep. Then on the weekends I would hibernate.
And I was about to say something about "so I can go all night" but from time to time I like to appear to be a gentleman especially after writing a secretive poem like this.
@RestlessButterfly -
Thank you...so maybe you picked up on the dual meaning
Your right. I had no trouble communicating with ppl in france and italy because I know spanish. I was able to understand most of what they told me.
And yeah sleeping problems galore. Jeez!
And yeah thanks for being a gentleman.
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas -
So I am expecting when I travel eastern Europe that I will have no problems communicating or if I don't speak the native language I can always bust out one of the others because so many people in those areas are bilingual at the least.
I think most of my problems were spiritual because I was teaching the word of God and to me it was such a monumental duty and I didn't want to screw it up.
@TiRocKiinPiinK -
I think that is how I feel from time to time as well
@godfatherofgreenbay - are you planning on traveling over there soon?
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas -
One of these days but not today
Ah. But remember there is no time like the present.
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas -
Yeah but sometimes the present's money situations don't allow for it and since I am an old man I can't make use of the youth hostels or student passes
Tru dat...what's your name? I'm jenn btw.
Sometimes there's no money. Also you're not old you weirdo. you'd be able to take advantage of youth hostels. I stayed in a mixed dorm with some really nice canadian guys in their early thirties. So I'm sure u'd be fine.
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas -
They call me Matt or Hey You or Mr. W. I go by many names.
Well I'm not a nice Canadian guy so I don't know...;)
Ah ha ha ha. Yes well, canadians are special but...I mean aren't u far north in wisconsin? ;p u might as well be canadian. Ha!
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas -
The Dells is like south central...I just use Green Bay as a moniker for my like of the packers
Ah I see. Hmm...a greenbay packers' fan...that's right. We can no longer speak to each other.
I am sorry.
somethings just cannot be forgiven. ;D lol.
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas -
Oh I am so sorry to hear that...it is so hard to type as I wipe the tears from my eyes but I guess that is life when cheering for the GREATEST TEAM IN THE NFL!
I know right? The bears are so FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!
Here you go sweetcheeks some blue and orange tissues to help you dry those tears.
It must be rough. ;D
@TheSecretLifeOfPandas -
Well thank you...I guess the blue and orange are good for something.
