Green Bay vs. Minnesota
Like I said on Sunday, the only game that mattered to me was the Badgers versus the Gophers and the Badgers won that game.
Overall I was impressed by Aaron Rodgers. For having a decimated offensive line, he had a great game. I am going to fax my résumé to the Packers front office along with a photo from my football days to see if I can be of service.
Classy, right? It's the only photo I have of my football days. I sort of got rid of them all one night when I realized I probably would never play again. Anyway it's a magnet and I don't have a scanner so this has to do.
Oh and the game was hard to watch with that lowlife piece of trash Brett Favre. I actually think Terry Bradshaw had something decent to say.
There's 12 more games left in the season, this is just one loss.

It seems like there's quite a double standard when it comes to this Brett Favre situation. When he played for the Packers, Vikings fans hated him because he's an awesome player who ended up stomping on us a good amount of the time. Now that he plays for the Vikings, we love him and Packer fans hate him because he's "playing for the enemy." If this is all just because he said he was retired a couple times before...did everyone get this upset when Garth Brooks came out of retirement like 5 times? Sure, he wasn't sports player, but he had more than enough money to never make another album or go on tour. If someone loves what they do so much, should they really be persecuted like this for it?
Terry Bradshaw saying something decent!? Cool!
He's got quite a mouth on him. I think he got a women's mouth by mistake! He sure loves to talk! Ha!
Green Bay used to be my oldest son's favorite team. Not sure if it still is. I'll have to ask him.
Nice football post, Godfather!
PS...Oh...I forgot to comment on my fav part...your football photo/magnet! What year was that?!?!

Terry BRadshaw got into some hot water a couple of years ago at the Super Bowl. He dropped an f-bomb on a live broadcast. In his defense, I think he was drunk. Hell, half the time he is in the studio I think he is drunk. This video of him actually was well thought out and he seemed intelligent.
I forgot to put how old that photo is. It was taken 14 years ago at the start of the season. I was 15.
@godfatherofgreenbay - I saw a movie with his naked butt in it, so everytime I see or hear about him I think of that! Ha! Okay....I'm not good doing math in my head....but 14 + 15 = you are a youngster! Egads!

I haven't had the greatest feelings for him the last few seasons, maybe the second year Aaron Rodgers was in the league Favre was just horrible. He had been stringing along the Packers organization for years prior. He has been saying that he would retire ever since Ray Rhodes took over as coach. Every year it got to be a joke. Will he? Won't he? It got old. He hasn't been that great but it is what he is surrounded with. All I can say is just wait for the second half of the season and all the people who are singing his praises are soon going to be calling for him to be benched. I guess what has really ate at me was just what genuine guy he was and how emotional he was and then he starts pouting about how the front office didn't want him around. Like Bradshaw said, your word is your bond.
I especially liked the one sided officiating in the first half. I lost count of the holding on the Vikings offensive line. And how about that Taunting and Interference call. They really wanted Favre to win.
Our football s way too different from yours football. Football to us is soccer.
I agree with TBradshaw whole heartedly. My uncle is a die-hard Packers fan and even mentioning Favre's name makes him seeth with anger. I don't blame Packers fans for being mad at all. It's the slap in the face when someone whom they've grown to admire and depend on turns on them several years in a row. It's like he has amnesia every year and just signs with another team. Here's to a Packers victory on November 1st. That stadium is going to errupt in Boos when Favre walks onto the field, it will be beautiful. And well-deserved.
I like the football pic by the way. Time flies. I ought to bust out some of my old baseball pictures.. On second thoat, probably not a good idea. Haha.

A youngster...wow, thank you...sometimes I feel so old when I come to Xanga.

It was unbelievable. You really are able to tell when the refs have money riding on the outcome of the game. Plus I think they wanted to be part of the history of officiating the game where Brett Favre becomes the only quarterback to defeat all 32 NFL teams. Imagine if their is expansion in the future. Will we see a 60 year old Favre come out of retirement for a shot at the new teams? My guess would be yes because he never keeps his word and he is an egomaniac.
@RestlessButterfly -
Yeah I should have been more specific and called it American football. I sometimes forget soccer because that isn't one of the sports that I play or coach.

I have talked to some people in the Packers organization and begged them to issue any new player the number 4 jersey. He treated Green Bay like crap for all his indecisiveness so turn about is fair play. I'd love to see #4 on say a back-up punter. There is also a lot of talk about how the people will react when Favre returns to Green Bay. There is a movement for all the ticket holders to just turn their backs when he comes out sort of like how he turned his back on the fans.
How's this for vanity...I have that magnet on my fridge. Baseball photos...I think you have to post them now.
i still haven't managed to watch freaks and geeks. i started watching "the fringe" a few days ago. i'm really liking it though.

I think I was 15 in that photo. I often got people thinking I was younger than I actually was. I remember one time when I was 16, I went out to eat at a buffet with my mom and grandmother and they asked if I was 12 to get the child buffet price.
Aren't your football days one of your fondest memories? Good thing you kept one, for when you want to look back and remember the good times.

It's not that I was fond of my playing days it was that I couldn't perform at the level I once did. I tore up my knee in the state championship game my senior year and it basically ended my career because I was never able to be the player that I was. I also lost out on a couple scholarships because of the injury.
My parents have more stuff. My mom clipped out every single score from my 3 years at that school plus any article about our school. They also have a couple highlight tapes so I guess they covered for my inability to handle the loss of my skills.
@godfatherofgreenbay -
oh wow. I'm really sorry to hear that...
Dude, just forget about this loss and watch Aaron Rodgers dominate for the next decade! He's one of my favorite player despite him playing for the Packers. The guy is fundamentally sound and is pretty humble about it. He's cool under pressure and can make any kind of throws. I'm already scared at the idea of the Packers improving that offensive line.
@kachino -
I don't know who he can dominate for the next decade if he is on his back.
What is really bugging me about Favre is how he is making himself bigger than the game and that totally disrespects all who came before him and who will come after him.
@godfatherofgreenbay -
people have always said the same thing about me too. i guess we just have good genes that we look so young.
@godfatherofgreenbay -
I don't think your O-line is going to be that dreadful ... Pretty sure 1st round picks will be used to build that line.
