  • Monday Morning Mash-Up Madness Plus More

It's been a long day after a long night.  The Badgers won quite handily over Hawaii last night/Sunday morning.  I don't get the reasoning behind having a night game in Hawaii.  Anyway, great game and now they have Miami.  I am not too concerned...well I am because it's basically a home game for Miami but then they are from the most overrated football conference in the college ranks.  Music time.

This one is "Let's Get it On" by Marvin Gaye vs. "Where is My Mind" by The Pixies.  I really enjoy this one but then I love Gaye's work.  I also am quite fond of The Pixies.  My dad once told that if it wasn't for Marvin Gaye, I may not be on this earth.  Creepy.

I know I have been giving the music track for this mash-up quite a bit of attention as of late but it is so easy to mash.  It's "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga mashed with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana.  I had my doubts but after listening to it a couple times I have to admit it's a great tune.  Poor Kurt.

OK I like this one, it's got a break-beat type thing going for it but I have no clue where the vocals are from other than it is a Snoop Dogg song.  The music is of course "Thriller" by Michael Jackson.

I was asked to post some photos of my cats so here they are:

You can't see here from the front but that is my cat Lua. She is sitting on my computer and is staring at my jackelope.  Oh and there's your proof that jackelopes exist.

There are Lua and Kiki.  Kiki stuck her tongue out at me.  That is an old computer chair but I kept in my den because the cats sleep next to me while I am on Xanga.

Kiki fell asleep with her mouth open one night.  I will have to get more of the progression but that is the final shot.

She is very protective of a toy cigar that I gave them.

Don't let Lua's "cute" exterior fool you.  She is pure evil, just look at her goatee.

Here are some video mash-ups involving one of my favorite songs.

Oh and a few people have brought back the "ask me anything" posts.  Well I usually don't ask because there isn't any anonymity when it comes to Xanga so in case anyone wants to ask me an anonymous question you can go to this site or here: http://www.formspring.com/forms/?762995-80CBWT9JsX.

And in case you missed it, I wrote a post in response to all these post titled "Why Girls are Hot" and "Why Men are Hot".  My post is called "Why Generalizations are Hot".

  • Nice mashups and videos, LOL! I really like the 3rd one. Oh yeah, have you heard Lady Gaga sing acoustic: Ellen Show Performance I never knew she had that strong of a voice, until my friend mentioned it to me the other day. And, :) that is such a cute picture of your cat Lua sitting and staring at your jackelope (first time I've ever heard of or seen that).

  • Awwwwww kitties!  They are so cute!  So glad you posted them =) ...look at Lua staring at that thing lol... why does she do that??  she's afraid it's gonna come to life, isn't she? ha... and the one with Kiki falling asleep with her mouth open is adorablllle... well actually they're all adorable... are they indoor cats?  they look so clean and fluffy =)

Congrats on your Badgers' win, that's great... I couldn't believe Ga Tech beat (crud, I forget who they beat lol)...anyway, I couldn't believe they won... and of course, the Alabama/Florida game goes without saying... poor Tebow though =(

  • LOVE the pictures of your "children"!!!!!!! Calicos are so beautiful, and Kiki is no slouch either! BTW, you let your "children" play with guns? :D They even have their own chair? How sweet!! My cat wants to lay on the keyboard while I'm trying to type. She also fancies herself a paper weight, making reading a newspaper extremely difficult.

  • Aw... kitten!  So cute!

  • I love seeing your cats here. Number one they are just beautiful cats. Not saying they are more beautiful than my Kashmire though (she is looking at me right now!) My cat loves to watch me while I'm on the computer in the living room sitting on the couch. She sits there patiently until I turn around and then starts meowing like theres no tomorrow for me to pick her up and put her on my shoulder so she can rub her face all over my hair. It is the weirdest thing. She loves freshly showered hair too. It's like a lazy bath to her I assume.

  • Marvin Gaye and the Pixies sound HOT!!!!! Do you mix the Mash UP's yourself!!! Its ound Fantastic!!!!!

  • Cute Cate! I have a Calico Persian. Her names Patches!!

  • I think the Snoop Dog song is from an album he had earlier in his career called "The Endo" about smoking weed

  • I was hoping you left the maw maw maw maw from poker face in the chorus of teen spirit. it would've been slick.

    Nice Jackalope.

  • Re Annie...its very christmassy for me, even though its not based at xmas time...lol. Re the kittys...cute, but wow...kitty with gun...scarey!!! lol xxx

  • @mZdejavuZ -

Yeah Lady Gaga is quite the singer and I could enjoy her if she wasn't so bizarre. I can't remember her real name but she did release an album and it was great. That is something you should look for, also her appearance on an MTV show called Boiling Points was interesting.

Those jackelopes...they are such a nuisance.

  • @Peridot21 -

Yes, my cats are indoor cats. Kiki tries to sneak out every once in a while and she has been successful a few times but once she gets outside she gets terrified and hides under my Blazer and it is so hard to get her out. One time she snuck out and as I was down on the ground reaching for her it started to pour and she took off running back into the house. I thought her heart would explode. I have no clue why Lua stares at the jackelope. She follows me around the house all the time and when she doesn't sleep in the chair next to me, she sits on top of the computer. One night she just started staring. This evening I was watching the weather about an incoming storm that could dump a foot of snow on the area and Kiki was staring at my gun cabinet. That worried me.

Georgia Tech beat Clemson. I have family in SC that loves Clemson. Oh and tomorrow expect some Tebow motivation posters.

  • @sandburm -

Oh yeah, I spoil these two. They sleep in an old chair next to me in my den and when I am in my living room they will sleep in the recliners. Then when I sleep, they sometimes sleep on me. I know when their claws need trimming when I wake up with scratches all over my chest and stomach.

  • @NightlyDreams -

yeah these two are quite cute. My first cat was a mean old cuss and these two are very mellow. He would bite if he didn't want to be touched and these two let me pet them whenever and if they don't want to be petted they just move away. I think I have only been bitten once or twice. One time I remember was because I grabbed them when the tornado siren went off and I was trying to get to the basement. By the time I got them both in their kennels, the siren sounded the all clear.

  • @rickystar1 -

These aren't mine. I haven't made any mashes in a long time and then when I did make them I looked for the mash-ups to see which songs I needed and remixed them for myself. I should upload some of my old remixes.

Aren't all of Snoop's songs about smoking weed?

  • @escaping_logic -

yeah they are cute and they are currently chasing each other through my house.

  • @dlmcniel -

I will have to talk to the DJ that made that and suggest he use those sounds.

  • @pleasurepuss74 -

Now that you mention it, the only time I see Annie on the TV listings is during the holiday season.

every once in a while I think these cats are out to kill me.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay -

Yes I would probably enjoy her songs too, if she wasn't too out-there, or if her songs weren't so shallow... No wonder they tend to get old so fast... But I have to give her credit for one thing though: She definitely has made her way to stand out from all other artists to date.

  • Interesting taste in music. I like the gaga with nirvana. I like both of them. Uhm...your cats ae freakin' adorable. Than I will have to come back to this post to check out the rest of the links. I"m getting sleepy Bay..

  • I think there might be something to the belief that Satan and his cohorts inhabit felines.

  • @SignificanceOfTheMightyClit -

It's amazing how well Lady Gaga and Nirvana go together.
I have to agree that my cats are adorable but I don't necessarily agree after they wake me up by scratching my face just so I will pet them and lavish them with attention.
I hope you had a good night's sleep.

  • @curiousdwk -

Yes I agree or there is was that old belief that people thought cats would steal souls. I wake up some mornings and I have one or both of them looking into my face and the stare is piercing.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay -

my last cat was that way. she actually ran people out of our house. better than a guard dog.

  • I loooove your kitties!   So beautiful...and voluptu-mous!

Those videos were hilarious.  I reposted them to facebook.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - lol aww poor Kiki... she thinks she's missing out on something outside then realizes it's not all it's cracked up to be ...but keep an eye on her now... ya know, with that gun cabinet thing eek! ;) ...i still think it's too funny that Lua stares at the jackelope; it's gotta be she thinks it's gonna come to life... or if she already thinks it's alive, that she's gonna miss it if it tries to move and/or get away ha ;P

  • @Peridot21 -

I think Lua must think the jackelope is alive and I just noticed that when my computer is on the fan sort of gives off air and the fur on the jackelope moves slightly. So that motion must be what she is seeing.

I know they didn't want to come out with me today. I was attempting to shovel and I got a path made but I had to come in. They came running to the door but I stomped and got snow on them and they took off running. They watched me from a window the whole time I was outside. It was sort of funny.

  • @Another_Perfect_Wonder -

The cats had fun watching me try to shovel this morning.

Yeah, I love Peaches even though she isn't in either of the videos. She ended a concert with that song and the place went nuts.

  • Kitties!!!! LOL! We have a old computer chair for our cats for exactly the same reasons!

But then I had a total girl moment and thought, "Oh, I like those curtains!"

We have this rib place right next to out home that has a jackalope hanging over one of the tables.  I cross my fingers every time we go in there that we will get sat at that table.

  • @ExposedWrists -

I have to brush that chair off on a daily basis because all their fur seems to collect there.

The curtains...the colors have faded but I like them mostly because they were my grandparents and it is a fun country scene with a covered bridge.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - aww such cuteness... i luv hearing about them.. wouldn't it be cool to know what they were really thinking? :)

  • @Peridot21 -

There was a device I saw in a catalog that could attach this mini-camera to their collars and through the fancy internet or something it transmitted photos and videos to your computer. It was quite expensive if I remember right. I was also scared to think what they may post of me because sometimes they like to sneak up on me.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - hahahaha yeah... and you'd have to make reeeeal sure you never. ever. got them mad  ;P

  • lol What's that thing at your wall?

  • @nattata -

Why that is my jackalope. It is a mythical creature although some people claim to see them all over North America. My grandfather shot that one and he had a fun story that went along with it. He was hunting in Wyoming and he was about to shoot an elk but the jackalope came snarling down a hill and scared the elk away. The jackalope then saw my grandfather and it spread it's wings and started flying straight for him. My grandfather fired a shot and it brought down the jackalope. He then had the animal mounted. My grandmother told a more accurate story; my grandfather purchased the jackalope on a hunting trip in Wyoming. If you want to know more, wikipedia has a fun little entry.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - Haha, that's awesome! You could win a "better homes" award with that!

  • @nattata -

Oh I wish...I also have three mounted deer heads and a head of an elk on my walls in my den/computer room and they all seem to stare at me when I work on the computer. I guess they keep me honest.
