Monday Mash-Up Madness
Wow, it seems like just last week Xanga was all messed up and no one could upload photos or audio. Wait, it was last week. I done uploaded some tunes and now you are going to listen to them...well you don't have to listen to them but READER WILL YOU PLEASE LISTEN TO THEM! OK, that's out of my system...maybe I should do the old "recommend if you are really my friend" routine. Here be the mash-ups for all 2 of you that are interested.
This mash-up combines Matisyahu with John Lennon, Blink 182, and Bob Marley. It's such an odd combination but it works for me. I really enjoy Matisyahu. He is my favorite Hasidic rapper. We share the same Hebrew name: מתיסיהו...so I guess that counts for something. Honestly this mash-up has made me start thinking positively about Blink 182.
This is one of two WTF mash-ups this week. It contains some salsa music combined with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana. As I have mentioned countless times before, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is one of the most mashed songs out there. It's amazing how it is used here but after listening to it a few times I began to be thankful that Kurt Cobain never became a washed-up act. If he did this song would be him right about now performing in Las Vegas lounge shows.
The other WTF mash-up..."Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne mashed with "Take On Me" by A-Ha. Oh man, this one is just so out there yet it works. It made bring up horrible images of Disco Train aka Ozzy's cover of "Stayin' Alive". The coolness Ozzy lost with me for not being able to control his bladder and covering "Stayin' Alive" has been regained by this mash-up.
OK so here is a photo of me in my football gear. That was taken years ago and sadly that is the only photo I have of myself. I used it as my comment pic but someone said it was tiny...I get that a lot.
I've had a few people ask about my cats...here they are sitting next to me while I am using the computer.
Lua loves to stand in my living room window and stare at the birds and squirrels feeding at my feeders.
I didn't catch it in time but Kiki was trying to carry one of my sandals up the stairs.
I found this street near the Hasbro board games factory...actually it's the street where a casino is located in Iowa.

I am trying to figure out which one I like the best. TV fans may recognize the design of the second plate...HELLO WISCONSIN!

well not masturbation but ejaculation, rather. they taught us that in medical school. men who ejaculated 21 times a month are less likely to develop prostate cancer. lol

...and, yeah, i think you're right about Kurt and the lounge singer thing, that's deff what it sounds like lol ...now i've gotta go listen to the real version (i love that song... and Nirvana actually) ...the Ozzy/A-Ha mash-up is pretty good though ...nice football pic, as well... ah, those were the days, huh? (...and we thought life was hard back then, right? ...boy, were we wrong lol 
...oh, and i can't figure out the license plate thing... seems familiar somehow but, nope, still can't figure it out (darn it)

That you mash these music pieces together into medleys makes you a musician; there is no contesting it. Next Monday I'll have to remember to do some housework while listening to them. Agree: Lua and Kiki are adorable. Seeing your home makes me feel like I'm back up north again. My dad's brother just passed away, and one of the brother's legacies was being a master carpenter. He built many places in WI. Compared to rinky-dink Florida homes, WI homes are palaces.

My cat tends to wait for me to finish my computer stuff while sitting on the couch next to me. It's a cry for please pay attention to me afterwards mommy! I think you're cats are adorable.
Can I get a copy of the a-ha/Ozzy mash-up? I know a *few* people on FB who would get as big a kick out of it as I did!

Yes, I've read that it is the ejaculation instead of masturbation but maybe they said masturbation so something positive can be said about the subject.

Kiki is so high strung. It seems like I have to bolt everything down because she tries to carry it around or at least she did when I first had them. She would carry pens, pencils, memory cards, bottle caps, car keys, and filters for humidifier around and hide them in places or present them to me as prizes. Then I was cleaning out a spare room and had some of my teaching supplies fall and I didn't realize it. It was a bag of plastic bendy straws. Now, she carries those around the house but what she loves to do is run upstairs, grab a straw, bring it to me, and the whole time she has it she is trumpeting like she has caught some big game animal. She gets a treat out of it. The weird thing is that when I am having back problems and sleep on the floor or couch, I will wake up, surrounded by straws and have straws on my blanket. Today I noticed she was climbing on my TV because there are paw prints on the front but that is also a testament to the fact that I need to dust.
As for the middle license plate...it was shown at the beginning of every episode of the show and when they showed the plate the main character would yell...HELLO WISCONSIN! Oh and in the final episode they changed the registration sticker from 79 to 80...that might be a big hint.

The house where I live is awesome. I think it was built by a Mason because some of the windows and fixtures in the house are Masonic symbols. Also this place, when it was first built, doubled as a funeral parlor. Actually my den is the viewing room. I also love how the house is built in that all the bedrooms are on the opposite side of the house that the sun rises so you don't get sunlight in your face in the morning and then as the sun beats down on the house during the day, the heat radiates out of the walls at night. Whoever built this place really knew what they were doing.

Yeah, Kiki has such a large personality be it carrying things or trying to get into my gun cabinet or on top of it so she can get into the ceiling. She almost got into the ceiling but she got stuck when one of the tiles came down on her. I wake up at 3 in the morning and hear her crying and there she is stuck in the ceiling, dangling above my cabinet.

Yeah I know it's shameful for Lennon but there are far worse things that have shamed him over the last decade like Napster and all these teenagers downloading his songs and not having any clue what they are about, kids without pubes butchering his material on American Idol, and then stores selling shirts with his image.
I only have two cats and they are fixed so I won't have to worry about becoming a crazy cat lady unless I get fixed

Lua always has to have me within eye range and if not she will run to find me. I don't have any privacy with that cat. When I go to the bathroom she will be sitting outside waiting for me and then sometimes when I shower she gets inpatient and pushes open the door to see me. When I eat meals at home, she has to come out and eat from her dish.

Well...I am a pushover because that is their chair and it was their first sleeping spot when they came to live with me. I simply moved it a little bit away from my desk and got a new chair so now all three of us can enjoy the computer.

I don't know but sometimes those mash-ups like the last two are hit or miss with me and it depends on my mood with those two. When I first heard them I was all "awesome" but now it's sort of "meh". I think the second one is the one that gives me nightmares but only because of what Kurt Cobain could've become.

Yeah despite them getting into so much trouble and knocking stuff over in the night and sharpening their claws in my carpet...they're pretty fun.
I am glad my clue gave it away because my next one would have been: There were 4 main male teen parts and 2 main teen female parts. I despised two of the four males.

FEZ...I couldn't stand him in the last few seasons. It was like the guy was getting sick of having the accent and throughout the show it's thickness fluctuated.
I don't think the young'uns realize the history behind Temple of the Dog so they don't get the song.

They have their Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus and Dan Fogelberg...we have quality music like Temple of the Dog...Soundgarden...Blind Melon...Everclear...Soul Asylum...Bon Jovi...REM...Bush...Oasis...I could go on forever.
@godfatherofgreenbay - i know, and i tell you what, i knew that freak show Miley Cyrus was gonna be trouble from the second she was on Disney... i mean it was already bad enough that Billy Ray was back lol, so that was a bad omen right there ughhh
... and wow yeah, Blind Melon... i love them, such a bummer about Shannon (that was his name right?) ...those are some great ones you listed, for sure

It was always interesting how Hoon got his start. His sister was friends with Axl Rose and Axl invited him to the studio. I wish I had siblings sometimes but then if I had siblings they would say they wanted to be an only child after being around me.
Nothing good can come from mullets...just a personal observation
