My Thoughts about Rape on Xanga
Not to downplay rape, but seriously, people, don't you have anything better to talk about? I've been here 6 years and I've probably seen 1265 posts about rape or rape fantasies. Why don't we discuss something that hasn't bee tackled on Xanga...something like abortion... evolution... religion... atheism... hijabs... terrorism... trolls... thinspo... fat people...marijuana... smoking... politics...Rob_of_the_Sky... being modern-day Christian crusaders who point everyone else's shortcomings while participating in sexual relations outside the confines of marriage...embracing our robot overlords.

I'd like to see some posts on monkey love, PB&J, how to make hats outa' trash, Rod Stewart, about who the heck invented pudding, how come when people say "don't do that!", I do that!and...oh...ooh! I'd love to see an Ann Landers type post where a man and his talking Cock answer people's questions!
I understand why people share their stories. I think they're brave to do that. I have some shit in my past I will probably never share. I'm not brave enough. It is my hope when these share their stories that someone who is reading will be helped.

I know why people post their stories and I am so happy that they can share them but the whole topic becomes a broken record if the word is brought up and then everyone has to weigh-in. It just gets old and tedious. I edited this post and you might see what I mean.

I may have over-exaggerated but when someone posted on rape the other day I saw about 100 different posts or maybe it was 2 posts timestamped and recommended 50 times.

I wrote a letter to Rod once using a bunch of his song titles. I was proud of it. It was fun to do. I never mailed it to him, just wrote it. Ha.

Yeah, there are so many things that have happened in my life that I will never share here but then I could expect people could think that I use a dead fiance to get attention. I should probably shut up. I wonder the legality of talking about that stuff too.
@godfatherofgreenbay - same, i will never share certain things either... coincidentally, i just read a post called "my rape experience" by someone who joined xanga yesterday (one of my xanga friends just rec'd it even)... idk, maybe i'm too cynical, but it seems weird to me... unless she just happened upon xanga and saw all the rape posts and decided to join and share... ?

gawd...what a reason to join Xanga! Maybe it is an existing Xangan that wanted to remain anonymous. Sometimes...I don't even want to say it, at least this time we don't have the pro and con fights about rape fantasies. That was horrible and it wasn't discourse it was just name calling sort of like what every discussion on Xanga boils down to...sigh...the internet really is making us dumber.
I got bit in the backside once when I shared something of my past, not in a post but in a private conversation with a Xangan. That hurt so that is why I try to stay away from my personal life. I just give glimpses here and there.

How many holes of golf can you play at the Dells? How many waterparks are at the Dells? Tell us about Door County, How many breweries are in Wisconsin? What does Milwaukee mean in Indian language? Which states border Wisconsin? Which Great Lake borders Wisconsin? Which Indian tribes formerly occupied Wisconsin? How many teachers does it take to run Wisconsin?
I could go on and on. And I am from Illinois.

Oh man...I should do a whole series on that. I may have to because the questions for me and the rooster are running on empty. I was going to do a post about funny sounding Wisconsin town names like that video during the Super Bowl of people from Texas saying names of places in Wisconsin.
@godfatherofgreenbay - and people from Wisconsin SAYING those town names! I took a boat tour in the Dells once, and they told us what the Indian meaning of Wisconsin was, but I can't remember. My son got to drive a duck boat, though.

In all the years I have lived in and around the Dells, I have never driven a Duck. I am so jealous. Well the original meaning of Wisconsin has grown obscure but it may be a Native American word Meskonsing which means something about red rocks and could refer to all the sandstone around the Dells and the Wisconsin River. And a similar Ojibwe word means "gathering of waters".

I think these sorts of subjects only come back around when certain people around here clearly have nothing else to say about anything or who's readership starts to slip slightly so that they are forced to throw out shit on their blogs that will surely put a fire under certain types of readers asses, therefore spiking up hits to their blog.
It's a sad, sad grab for attention really. I try to stay out of it but sometimes I admit to leaving my two cents in the comments if I feel compelled, therefore just feeding the machine like the stupid idiot that I am.
Oh well, at least I don't lie about my hypocrite behaviour at times.

There was one xangan who must remain nameless that would timestamp some of his controversial posts just to bring back drama because xanga seemed slow to him. I hate that guy, I really do but then he has nothing better to do.
