BLOGATHON (Wisconsin Town Names)
I'm cheating at this blogathon and not really blogging with this one. I'll do that later tonight when I do my regular Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning Motivation post.
What I want you to do is read the list of names of Wisconsin towns and I want you to formulate how the names are pronounced. Then once you do that, listen to my vlog (if you can stand looking at my ugly face) for the proper pronunciation as well as some fun stories. OK maybe they aren't fun but whatever...enjoy.
OK so some aren't that hard. Be thankful I forgot to include Ixonia or Ahnapee or Nasewaupee or Poy Sippi.

I'm sure your GPS has a lot of fun with these. Mine always has a fit when I go driving towards Philly. Good old Bala Cynwyd...
@carolinavenger - I can vaguely remember that when I was out there because I stopped and asked how to pronounce it.
That was fun. And I didn't laugh at your accent!
I like the name Wauwatosa. My work place does some business out of that town, what a fun word to say.
Prairie du Chien ... that's French
lol @the body slam story; great. And I'm glad I got few of them right. This was fun, indeed.
You have worse names than we do in Ms. Ours are also from Indian names too. I guess if you grow up with them it's easier to pronounce. I'd definitely have a time with those.
Well these are fun town names!
@randaness - well thank you...I actually remembered a town this afternoon after I made the video. It was for a town called Muscoda which is in a book I'm reading.
@ItIsAllGravy - Milwaukee pretty much lies on top of each other but I think there is a college there that I was looking at for a program a few years back
@kachino - Yes, it is. Settled by the French many years ago. I think it's one of the oldest settlements in the state.
@nov_way - Yeah not something I'm proud of but it was a fun time
@NightlyDreams - Yeah I suppose I'd get laughed at if I went to Texas and tried to pronounce names there.
@stephx4 - Yes they are. I love seeing names like that every day.
@godfatherofgreenbay - It's pronounced pray/ree/deuh/che/yen.
Stopped by 'cause you posted a Vlog. Signed, Miss Waukesha (sort of).
@kachino - Well that may be the French pronunciation but that's not how it's pronounced in Wisconics.
@POETIC_ISIS - Miss Waukesha...interesting.
So, if I stop and ask around where is Weyauwega, I'm pretty much fucked.
@godfatherofgreenbay - Nice to see you, comrade! How cum youse tork funy anyhoo? Not loike wot I does.
Your site is one of the most amusing and keep it up. Where the fuck is wisconsin anyhows? I bet it is one of the few places paleface didn't steal. I've heard from a bloke down the pub that the local indigenous nation begged you to take it and then fucked off to Hollywood to bite the dust in da films.
Okay! Okay! I'll stop drinking boot polish and get some sense back.
that reminds me of a scene/stunt in "maddadayo" where one person didn't know any fancy stories to share of his teach so he chose to recite the entire train stop list/ not the the express for much of japan.
it isn't in green bay libraries but is

and thus available for interlibrary loan

it's a fun movie-even if i ask you to read a translated subtitle...eek! but you will laugh many many times... I bet you....how to handle burglars....how to handle jerks who pee in your alley....stupid stew.... very amusing movie. you will have to think about the jokes as its about a beloved teacher....sorry, the gags are thinkers...what a stinker.
@Sir_Sparrow - HAHAHA...yeah, it was one of the few places where the Native Americans were not forced out and were left alone although the technically have reservations but they are also considered a sovereign nation and have casinos. Fun times.
@windoftheforest - It's a wild time up there so you may need some bribe money.
@I_once_was - Thanks, I'm going to walk across the street to my library and have them get it for me.
@godfatherofgreenbay - Where they have these reservations? No wonder it's hard to get a table at MacDonalds
@Sir_Sparrow - Well I thought it was easy to get a table because everyone uses the drive-thru.
you were WICKED in Wauzeka?
I can't believe people who bitch and moan about who knows the good stuff and where its to be found FAIL to notice you said something about a good cheese and wisconsin can be cheese....and buffalo is growing....BEER... kaukauna cheese -

never heared of the beer but never so much mind that- this is where you come in and tell all about
why the cheese? I've had the stuff, I like theiir other cheese logs but nay to the portwine cheese spread...which is odd as my favoite cheese in the whole wide world is munster which is a wine rinder soft cheese... fickle pickle me..... it spreads nicely on triskits though
what about the cave ale... you might have read why dear cook i_once_was likes his ales turned into lambics by adding fruit "nectars" into them would you do that or is this ale meant more for a chambord liqueur? or other such spirits based flavor bender.
you of course do not need to be a throw-down chef to answer, you simply need to say yummy cheese and point...just remember I'm blind- hence I ask
I really can't believe no one bothers to notice the gold you offer..... remember to have some longhorn on hand so I can make you some of the best darn stuffed potato boats about- and longhorn as a rule does it... cheddar simply is an easier name to remember... and do you have a cheap cheesery handy? I'm going to want some smoked cheese as that peps up the soup....
yes, I know the vid wasn't present when this got going but still
@I_once_was - Munster is my favorite cheese but there is just something about port wine spread that sets me off. I love it. I always judge a cheese factory by the port wine they produce.
I used to have a cheese factory in town...about 5 blocks from my house. There is sort of an Amish cheese shop I visit that's about 15 miles away. It's sort of Amish because the Amish co-op and sell their milk to the cheese factory. This place is amazing. They make a product with soybeans that looks like chex but is flavored like various nuts so people with allergies can taste the nuts they can't have. It's called Old County Cheese.
the Potosi Brewery opened in 1852 and ceased operations in 1972 but the property was bought in 1995 and soon it was restored and it's a functioning brewery and has a museum attached called the National Brewery Museum. I've only had a couple of the Potosi brand beers. The cave ale is my favorite but I'm not too fond of the flagship beer. If I want a few of their seasonals I have to go to the brewery and the pub located within.
@godfatherofgreenbay - when I considered my need to travel and how much of a pain it'd be to back track to include you in- even knowing that wisconsin like du, they make beeer there.... well, you've covered the or a great reason to put your pin back in. as i'm extra poor this year with the new buy all of my insurance present of less income- it may be late in the summer season but I mean to add to my states visited list this year and stories and places..... I've not had an amish nut faux cheese but I have had fako cheese before- Its part of understanding how to gradate goodness into a diet even when lactose intollerance hits or going vegan altogether for religious reasons. I am neither but I love my foods enough to try not to snub people for their needs....and I don't mean just don't say add an onion- yes, I know onion haters and the actual allergic....it's not cool to give someone hives. things of that nature or worse, having to be in the same room with a grumpy stomac and the horrid gas that is lactose intollerance in those I've met. eek. cave ale... will have to remember.
So, I'm guessing that these are Indian names? (I'm from Texas >.> so I don't think we have unique names like this. Though I did live in Kansas for a year, and I remember a interesting street name in the part of Kansas I was in, just from listening to you) I enjoyed your vlog =D I even got my bf to listen to you and he was intrigued by it too.
@Hinase - Thanks, I forgot to reply earlier so now I'm getting around to it but anyway thanks for watching and having your boyfriend watch. It's so much fun driving around Wisconsin and seeing all these towns with Native American names and not having to guess the pronunciation.
@godfatherofgreenbay - I'll use your video as reference if I ever go to Wisconsin. Lol Then I won't be totally lost. Lol
