  • Lukewarm Links 3/31 + Baseball Picks

I was going to do a separate post for this but I'm lazy.

NL East: Atalanta Braves (I don't see the Phillies winning even with the alleged best rotation in baseball.  They have bad fielding and took quite a blow on their offense and they have some pretty bad injuries.  Atlanta is an explosive team and I think they have it this year.)
NL Central: I was going to say Milwaukee but today's performance from the bullpen reminded me why I want to say Cincinatti.  Hell...Milwaukee.  (They have the best rotation in the division and their line-up is going to dominate.)
NL West: San Fransisco Giants (I doubted them last year and they won the World Series.  Also Sandoval looked amazing in spring training after dropping a lot of weight.)
NL Wildcard: Colorado Rockies (that's right, I don't think the Phillies will make the playoffs.  U Mad?  Come at me bro)
NL Cy Young: Roy Hallady (At least I see the Phillies winning something)
NL MVP: Prince Fielder/Albert Pujols (You think I'm a homer? The Milwaukee line-up is potent and Prince has some good hitters in front of him plus he's in a contract year.  If the Brewers aren't over 500 at the All-Star break I bet he'll be gone.)

AL East: Boston Red Sox (Speaking of potent line-up.  I think the only question mark lies at the catcher position but with that pitching rotation which has 5 potential Cy Young winners for this season I could catch for the Sox)
AL Central: Chicago White Sox (It pains me to pick them however they have the easiest schedule in baseball and it's a lot easier than any of the other Central teams and I HATE THE TWINS.  Most of my resentment of the Twins is because of Twins fans...shit, I love how Joe Mauer is the anti-LeBron James and took less money to play for the home team but I hate the freaking Twins.)
AL West: Oakland Athletics (They might have the second best pitching rotation in the AL and the division is historically weak.)
AL Wildcard: Tampa Bay Devil Rays (They will always be the Devil Rays to me.  They have a nice rotation and they added some good bats in the offseason despite losing some.  I also hate the Yankees and think they will finish 4th in the AL East.)
AL Cy Young: Franciso Lirriano/Felix Hernadez/Jon Lester (I am at a loss here.  All three look good and I expect big things out of all of them.  However I don't expect Hernadez to finish the season in Seattle.  He'll be in pinstripes by the end of the season)
AL MVP: Joe Mauer/Adrian Gonzalez (Mauer is so consistent and probably the best hitter in recent years.)

    Now links

    1.  Julia Segal is a stand-up comic and she has a tumblr.  It's funny.

    2.  I found a list of the best tumblr sites of the year and this one, This Isn't Happiness, was one.  It's just a collection of photos.  I still don't understand the appeal of tumblr other than it's fast and easy for those with short attention spans.  Oh and there was a cool item that I found on that site, a USB cassette player that converts cassette tracks to MP3.

    3.  I wonder if the food xanga ish site has talked about this site.  It's called Scanwiches and it's a collection of sandwiches that are cut in half and then scanned to a computer.  I get so hungry reading that site.

    4.  I love black and white movies.  There's just something so exciting about them because for me it makes me focus more on the emotions and expressions of the actors.  I'm weird but here are a list of 5 good black and white movies produced in the age of color film.  How many of those have you seen?  I own 3.

    5.  I did a post about this phenomena before but know I have found a site that features photos of Hover Hands.  After watching 3 seasons of Law & Order: SVU I will permanently have hover hands.

    6.  Do you have a grandma?  Is she cool?  I have not met a lot of people who have said they have a cool grandma.  Here's a collection of grandmas trying to be cool.

    7.  The other day I heard a news story about a school that I was considering.  At a campus gathering on the USC campus a couple was seen on the roof of a building having sex.  Here's a collection of NSFW photos but they are safe in that there is no nudity except for one gracious black box.  The girl is totally Donald Ducking.  I thought I was the only one who did that.

    8.  Here's a fun captioning game.  It's called Words that Follow.  You get together with three other people and are shown a photo and you have time to think up captions and then you vote for the best captions.  It's fun!

    9.  Before he was signed by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Manny Ramierez had planned on starting a new business, a paranormal investigation team.  Maybe Manny can pursue that in the offseason.  (It's actually from The Onion)

    10.  I just am posting this link to help me remember that a new Shel Silverstein book is released this September.  I will seriously tackle kids to get my hands on it.

    11.  Charlie Sheen has probably slept with thousands of women and this site makes the joke that if he doesn't have STDs then his blood should be sold as a vaccine.  Here's a list of 18 women he's slept with.  Charlie Sheen is the alpha male of all men.

    12.  I'm going to drop something on you that may be a shock...I HATE THE FOOD NETWORK.  It is the most useless show.  I remember when I was in college and I'd come home.  My mom and dad would be gathered around the tv watching cooking shows all day and then my mom would ask "What do you want for lunch and supper?"  YOU ARE WATCHING COOKING SHOWS!  SHOWS THAT SHOW FOOD BEING PREPARED!  FOOD THAT YOU CAN MAKE!  ARHGHAGUHAFASFG*{hiol;khFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I just can't stand it.  But watching Food Network isn't the worst thing my mom watches.  She watches reruns of game shows on The Game Show Network.  ASH:A}{H}AS(_HFA}FHIPKL!!!!!  Anyway, here's a site that also has a disdain for the Food Network.  I will watch it for the Iron Chef because that show is AWESOME.

I really would like to go there this weekend.

Have you had a run-in with the Tax Master yet?

Oh snap, Paula Deen is raging.

    Oh Food Network...you so crazy.

And this is quite possibly the most innocent racism I've ever seen.

    Have a great night/day.
