  • Demented Rants Of A Confused Aging Rock Star

So I spent my day like I was supposed to...relaxing in front of fans.  I didn't turn on the AC because I figured it needed a rest.  Today was also great because I didn't have any familial duties.  I know you are supposed to honor your parents and family but sometimes they get to be a tad demanding like today, my dad calls and asks me to do his laundry.  My answer?  "Fuck no."  Oh it felt good to say that.  What was even better was hearing him yell "why" as I hung up.  I'll probably catch hell later but screw it, he's pretty much the reason I've been wearing myself ragged.  Ever since his surgery and heart scare he hasn't lifted a finger.  He's not supposed to lift anything over 25lbs but I think he thinks it says 2.5lbs.  Anyway I think tomorrow I'm going to do more of the same...absolutely nothing.  Maybe I'll catch up on vidja games.  Maybe I'll read a book...nah, I don't want to do something nerdy.  I need to shed that image.  Oh who am I kidding?  I'll just end up on Xanga making grandiose statements of delusion.

This is why people say teachers shouldn't have collective bargaining rights and this is also why teachers need collective bargaining rights...I'm trying to figure out what "Jailie" is.  Jelly?

    It's pretty hot out there.

So do they think dogs can read or do their urinals also function as bubblers?  If you don't know what a bubbler is, get on my level.

Those sure are some well lubricated socks.

    Bob Ross is bad-ass.

Speaking of Ross...I saw this at a garage sale.  I'm thinking of putting it out for the 2012 election just to confuse people.  I may also stick out my John Kerry signs.

    And you're complaining because?

Finally some originality coming from Lady Xerox.

SWM searching for a discreet threesome with lettuce and tomato.

Well, what else are parks for?

These guys were tailgating before the most recent Green Bay Packers shareholders meeting.  That's devotion people and just another reason why more NFL teams need to be publicly owned.

    That meme will never die.

    That is a tough choice.

Why are my eyes getting all wet?

Al Gore is pleased with how I use the internet.

I have a few ideas for posts and I ran them by my dad a few days ago and he was thoroughly offended so I know they'll go over well on Xanga.

  • lol to dad's opining!  KNO thy audience! ;)

  • lol. where the fuck is that park that it's necessary to post that sign:???? bahahaha.

and good you hear that you told your dad no. dude seriously they are ridiculously demanding.

  • I stand corrected.  Not everything is better with Bacon...

  • Ha, yes! If a parent or grandparent doesn't like it, then it's perfect for the Xanga masses!
Ha, Bob Ross! Is he still alive???
Ha, Al Gore! Just listening to him talk makes me laugh!
Ha, that grocery list! Yes, I think that is "jelly"!
Ha, "some women take forever"! That's my fav of this post!

Thanks for all the laughs, Matt!

I'm glad you took care of you today, after the day you had yesterday! Sometimes you have to say "no"! (I'm still trying to learn that word.)

    HUGS!

  • That dude with the bacon is weird and I think he needs to meet up with Lady Gaga and her meet outfit.

  • the rose porot side

  • Interesting photos. Thanks for sharing.

  • You know doll, I feel for you in your care giver status.  You seem to do a lot for your parents.  People never seem to realize that even when you love people, it's still hard to take care of them.  It's too hot and your dad's clothes can wait.  I'm glad you said no.  Now go try and stay cool with your fluffy babies.

  • LOL awesome  funny!!!

  • nerds rule .. . said the nerd.  :)

  • Glad you're taking it easy and putting yourself first.  :)

  • what else are parks for....hahaha. they're all funny.

i remember being in a taxi on my way home one evening. the driver had the radio on. a presidential debate had just ended and Ross Perot was fielding reporter questions. i don't recall his exact wording but in answering one question he said "the problem with government is the President makes a decision, then Congress fights over it for 3 months and nothing gets done." he continued "government should be run like a business where the boss tells his employees what he wants done and nobody questions him. everyone falls in line and does what they're told", the boss being the President. i was dumbfounded. he was suggesting to reporters what we needed was a banana republic style dictatorship in the U.S.

i'm glad you've chosen to give yourself a break and relax.

  • @starmanjones - The one that really offended him was a list of words, the American and British words for certain objects.  Oh he got pissed off but that's because he lived over there for a few years and likes the British for some reason.

  • @TheSecretLifeOfPandas - yeah I think they figure that since I have the summer off I should drop everything for them.  Little do they know I have done so much writing this summer.  I have written 12 Bible studies and that's over a year's worth of Bible studies.

  • @deux02 - I thought that too but I learned that someone had switched my regular bacon with turkey bacon.

  • @AdamsWomanFell - One of the posts as I mentioned above was a look at the difference between words in America and Britain.  I think my dad was offended because he lived over there for a few years.  Another one I was going to write was about a superhero in my grade school that we called Checkerman.
I had to look it up but I knew Bob Ross had died but didn't know when.  He passed away in 95 at the age of 52 from lymphoma.  I think his show went on for a few years after because he had taped so many episodes.

  • @Grannys_Place - hahahahaha...that's great, too bad the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame requested her dress and put it on display but now it isn't meat but it's more like beef jerky.

  • @dmcx - yeah, I really should put it up in my yard for the next election cycle.

  • @ExposedWrists - my cats have decided to hide in their cool places.  Kiki stretches out on a bed.  I can't believe she can get so long.  Lua sleeps under chairs and bed when it's warm.  She's afraid of fans so for most of the summer she hides although she came around me a few minutes ago but didn't stay long because I have a fan blowing on me.

  • @adventofreason - I ended being in front of Xanga and caught up on vidja games and made guacamole.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay -  well you could honour him with british spelling :)   the least you can do  good show and all that ;)   play him some til death do us part- the precursor to all in the family but british and he may enjoy the freespirited character of the show ;) ...the special was nice- with such jokes as "it's f patriotic to smoke- wjo do you think pays for the warship and palaces?"

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - I used to watch Bob Ross paint on lazy Saturday afternoons. I think he was on a PBS station in our area. I liked his soothing voice. Wow, he died young.

I know I've told you this before...but I love how you use so many different profile pics to fit a comment or a post you comment on. I always look to see who you use and it always makes me smile or laugh!

Yay for Steve from Blue's Clues!

  • @SasGal - yeah I guess it's about time.  I was worried I might get myself drunk and take advantage of myself but I've kept a level head.

  • @TheSutraDude - You know, I think Perot was the beginnings of the Tea Party because it seems like that is what the Tea Party is going for.

  • @AdamsWomanFell - I think around here his show was on every single day.  I usually fell asleep watching his show because it was so calming.

I figure I need to use Xanga to it's full potential although I have some of my favorite pics...pic related.

  • @starmanjones - no, I won't spell like that.  I'm not a hipster.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - i think you're right which reminds me, Illinois Tea Party Congressman Joe Walsh has been lecturing the government about fiscal responsibility and not leaving our children stuck with the bill. guess what? his ex-wife is suing him for the $119,000.00 he owes in back child support. you gotta love it.

  • @AdamsWomanFell - BOB ross - the "hippy painter"  ahhhh the good old days!

  • @TheSutraDude - or Michelle Bachmann who complains about people receiving government handouts when her farm receives about $300,000 a year in government handouts.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - and the clinic owned by Bachmann and her husband also gets government handouts. and self-proclaimed "real American" Sarah Palin who's husband was a card-carrying member of the Alaskan Secessionist Party until it became politically difficult for obvious reasons when Palin became VP nominee. the leader (and i believe founder) of that party has written that it is ok to take up arms and kill other Americans should it become necessary if Alaska does indeed try to secede. as governor, and weeks before being chosen by McCain as his running mate, she spoke at the ASP and told them to "keep up the great work."

my favorite comeback to her famous words about seeing Russia came from a blogger who said, "I can see the moon from my backyard. this doesn't make me an astronaut." haha

  • Hmmm..Interesting images.

  • @jiazy_1 - well I hope that is a good thing
