  • Curious Thoughts Of A Insatiable Geek

    I drove to Chicago and back today.  I had to take an aunt to O'Hare for her flight back to California.  It was a nice 8 and a half hour round trip.  I still can't believe people accept tollbooths.  They were horrible.  Let's see how about every 20 miles we set up barriers and charge people $1.50 to drive another 20 miles.  BRILLIANT!  I can't imagine driving down there after January 1st when most of the tolls will double.  On the way back I drove past the former fiance's house.  God, that was hard.  Anyway here are some photos and stuff.

    Yep, that's basically why I can't go to Hooters or any restaurant for that matter.

    I think I have something new to say when all my friends show off baby photos.

    It means, "Get back in the kitchen and make me a sandwich."

    Well it looks like Tyler Perry is making a horror movie.  I believe it's called Madea's Paranormal Blacktivity.

    Wow, those Mucinex boogers really stick together through thick and thin.

    Then why am I trying to start a blueberry patch in my yard?

    How true is that!  Maybe if you are going to make me feel sympathy for you you ought to think about what you're wearing.  How many junkies have you seen wearing decent watches?

  • i love the libertarian lifeguard cartoon. sure does make the point. and you had to rub it in about the vikings. well.....my Giants won and so did SF and Oakland, my two recently acquired teams.

    You want to pay outrageous tolls? Try driving between New York and New Jersey. Tolls are going up, I think it'll be 16 to cross the George Washington. ...and yet OK Cupid keeps trying to get me to date people over there. Unless he's a millionaire I don't think we could afford it. :P

  • hahaha @ the madea one... I've never seen any of tyler perry's movies, mainly because their titles are usually horrible puns. and that's not to say I don't like puns, because I do, but his suck.

  • Tollways... I have a story for you about those damn tollways.

    I have an Ipass but sometimes the little sensor doesn't catch it as I drive by.  I get fees for $20 for each "missed" toll.  Those $20 feels turn into $240 fines when you're waiting for those "missed" tolls to be removed from your record.  Magically all of a sudden you owe $3,000 even though you have an Ipass that is supposed to deduct money from your bank account.  

    It takes twenty minutes to get the "correct" person on the phone who still can't give you any information about why you owe $3,000 on $4.00 worth of tolls that should have been taken out in the first place...

    That shit pisses me off.  Oh, and the roads STILL SUCK!

    @Rob_of_the_Sky - I'm beginning to be Pepsi sympathetic because so often Pepsi is discriminated against at restaurants and they won't let Pepsi be in the same room with Coke.  It's horrible.  Pepsi deserves the same rights as Coke.  Oh and you aren't missing anything by not going to Hooters, subpar food at inflated prices...you're paying for the boobs.

    @TheSutraDude - Wow, S.F. and Oakland...that must provide some inner-conflict sort of like me being German and Atlantic Islander.  I guess it'd make more sense if I was German and French.

    @roscoes_farm - yeah as much as I complain about being alone I shouldn't turn my nose up at waffles.

    @GodlessLiberal - That was my first year living in Minnesota.  I loved all the songs that were released.  That was the year the Will Smith song about Miami was on the radio and the Super Bowl was played in Miami so there were so many Vikings related parodies.  After they lost, the CD stores couldn't give those things away.

    @kachino - The Vikings really got poached in the free agency scramble.  I feel bad for someone like Jared Allen because he's actually trying to win and there is no one left on defense.

    @leaflesstree - I like eating cereal for dessert if I want dessert.
    OK I will shut up and realize that other people have it worse.

    @ExposedWrists - That one is real.  Too often I've found people passing off created church signs from one of those sites where you type in the text and they put it on a photo as real church signs.

    @raspberryjade - I have actually watched a few Tyler Perry movies and I can see the appeal.  The portray African Americans in positive, normal situations unlike so many movies although there are times when I agree with Spike Lee's take on Tyler Perry in that his movies and TV shows are nothing but buffoonery.

    @Peridot21 - HI!  where you been?  I actually want to go back to Chicago and connect with my family down there as long as I don't have to drive or pay tolls.  Also is it too much to ask that I want to recreate scenes from The Blues Brothers.

    @xplorrn - I've only been to Hooters a few times and the food was horrible every time.  I realized after the 3rd visit that I'm not paying high prices for quality food.  After 7 visits I realized I was paying for the show.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - where have i been?  well, here's the thing... nowhere, really lol... it's just that sometimes i get in these "not into xanga at all" moods, and theeeen, the longer one is away from it, the easier it is to be away...... ya know what i mean??  but, hopefully, that won't happen again any time soon. :)

  • @Peridot21 - I think I have the same thing with my video games.  I go for a long time without playing it and then I get so caught up in them and I go out and buy more and play and then I put them away.  I have discovered this website called youtube and people have uploaded videos of themselves playing video games so I have a new outlet to ignore my systems.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - Yeah very sad for him. It's just a shame that the team never tanked to get that franchise QB. I honestly think it's time.
