Horrible Day
#caturday It was just a horrible day. The Badgers lost. Such a bad game. Then I heard that a local politician/restaurant owner/amateur boxer lost his fight with cancer. What could make this day better? Cats.
Oh, I know what would make my day better. The comfort of a warm female. Anyone want to console me after this horrible loss?
R.I.P., Ed, you'll be missed. I loved how every time I ate at your restaurant you greeted me and knew me by name.

I am sorry about your friend. I've experienced that loss way too often. It just sucks.
Badgers... sigh. Football is on tv here all weekend long. Badgers and Huskers fans (my FIL grew up in WI but my husband grew up in NE)... it gets really loud in here sometimes. But the boys seem to have a good time, so I just chill.
I love, love LOVE the kitties! The last one, the one with the Chey Boyardee can, reminds me of our late kitty-daughter, Mikey (a/k/a Ma Petit Fleur).

@Rob_of_the_Sky - She is a fan of the mini-ravioli and the funny thing is she hates the overstuffed ravioli.
@AdamsWomanFell - Yeah , it was rough. This guy was pretty popular in this part of the state. So many people have bumper stickers that say, "Don't Blame Me, I Voted for Ed." He was quite the guy. Oh Lua sleeps like that a lot of the time when she sleeps next to me as I watch TV. She sleeps on the top of the couch as I lay on it. Right now she is sitting next to me in a spare computer chair that is busted but my cats have made one of their beds.
@starmanjones - The funny thing is, they are having that guy's memorial service at his restaurant and bar so maybe there would be free beer involved.
@SamsPeeps - If you watched the news in Madison this weekend, they pretty much covered his death. I think it was because he was a one time governor candidate and also the brother of Tommy Thompson.
That last cat is my Kiki. I can't leave opened cans on the counter because she'll find them. I once made tacos and had opened a can of black olives. I think she ate about a dozen olives before I realized what she was doing.

@under_the_carpet - yeah my cats right now are making me smile because they are sitting on each side of me and staring at me. I think it's because a little while ago I was singing.
@leaflesstree - Packers won and I bought Halloween candy and the Rocky Horror Picture Show on DVD and a DVD copy of Wizard of Oz so I can sync it up with Dark Side of the Moon.
@my_little_niche - I thought it was going to be a blowout so I didn't even watch it. I went shopping instead. From the sound of it I should've stayed home to watch.

@cja1976 - thanks, he had pancreatic cancer and beat the doctors' predictions of only living 6 months. He lived for 13 months after the diagnosis.
@your_paper_heart - yes those last two are Lua and Kiki. I can't leave the room without having Lua follow me and Kiki gets into everything I leave on counters.

Everyone talks about how cats are not loyal and aren't as dependable as dogs, well they've never met my cats. Lua will follow me if I am not within her sight and when I settle in a place for the night like on the couch for TV or at the desk for computer 90% of the time she'll be right by me and Kiki will be nearby pouting because she can't be near me. Lua also has a habit of following me to the bathroom and also sitting outside the shower. Kiki...I can't leave anything on the counter after I open it. Thankfully she didn't get up there until after I dumped the stuff into a pot. One time I was using black olives for tacos and she got up on the counter and I think she ate about a dozen.

I am sorry about the loss of Ed; those things can hurt your heart, that's for sure. I had seen the football scores as well . . . yuck. Here's to a brighter week ahead, my friend.
@your_paper_heart - that's Lua. I don't know, she's sort of grown on me although she can get annoying. There are nights when I try to go to bed and I don't get my blankets over me and she'll jump up on my hip or stomach. She's sleeping next to me right now.

@roscoes_farm - yeah, the other night when I was feeling low both of my cats came and laid on me. That was sort of different.
@ExposedWrists - she only sleeps like that when she sleeps on that couch corner. You can't tell it but that spot is her spot. I think she sleeps there most every day. It has a nice cover of fur. She's sleeping next to me right now but she's in the meatloaf position.
@Peridot21 - I think it's because of the salt but that doesn't explain why she was carrying around one of my flash drives today.
@dangerousdan58 - not quite, my cats make sure of that, when I feel down they have a way of cheering me up or pissing me off. The last photo...she was carrying around a flash drive in her mouth this afternoon. Maybe she was telling me I need to lay off the porn but then it was my flash drive with all my writings. Could be her way of telling me I suck.
@adventofreason - I have air in my lungs so I guess I shouldn't feel bad.
