Homework Assignment 12/5
Class, I read your last assignment but I forgot to respond to your comments. I get behind in that at times but I try my hardest to reply to every single comment but it doesn't always work out that way so if I didn't reply to your comment I sincerely apologize. You take time out of your day to respond to something I wrote and the least I should do is reply. Well everyone gets an A+. I thought that it was quite interesting that not everyone picked the U.S Rangers to win. When I pushed the save button I figured it would be a clean sweep but I was surprised. Thank you.
Here is your next assignment:
Do one or the other and for extra credit do both.
Now get to work.
Comments (51)
A. This isn't a thinly veiled reference to you leaving Xanga, is it? Because that's no good.
B. The last time we lost power for a significant period, it was an ice storm in early January and the house got cold really fast so I wore about 5 layers of clothes, got under 4 or so blankets and had a cat sleeping on top of me for warmth, and I slept when it was dark and read when it was light or with some candles and that was pretty much it. The roads were so icy we couldn't go anywhere and there really is not much to do in this house.
@carolinavenger - well when I was thinking of questions for this post the other day I was listening to a song, when I put my cursor over the question it will reveal the title of the song I was listening to.
I think I've only lost power for extended time periods two times and both were in Minnesota. One was because a carnival came to town and it was located a couple blocks from my place and when they were setting up they drained all the power on the grid and it blew a transformer. The other time was just a random outage one morning before school started. I couldn't get into my garage because I only had access to it with a remote opener because the tenant before me didn't return the keys. It's a good thing my neighbor was a bus driver. I get to school and there's no power so we canceled school for the day.
I must be travelling on now, cause lord knows I can't change.
A. I would unless I got Alzheimers!
B. Uhmmm.....no electricity, no internet, no heat, we'll assume that it's dark out and it's winter right? Only one thing comes to mind. Sex, sex, sex, sex, and more sex. What else am I going to do? I have no lights to see so I can't read a book!
Bye, bye, @Rob_of_the_Skyit's been a sweet love though this feeling I can't change
@hesacontradiction - I forgot about that option
I forgot about sex because I am alone...sigh...I need to work on that
i guess i don't need extra credit, so i'll just do B... ok, five things, let's see... 1) be bummed, 2) call the electric company to make sure they know, 3) get in the car, 4) drive to somewhere that has electricity... and ice cream, 5) hope the power is back on before i get home.
@godfatherofgreenbay - FREEBIRD
A. Of course I'd remember you...you make me laugh and smile. I need that.
B. 1) Light candles. 2) Play board games with kids by candlelight. 3)Call the power company to check on possible restore time. 4) Bundle up and sleep. 5) Read by flashlight in bed.
Do I get an A?
the electricity's out? hmmm.....
1: play with myself
2: get someone else to play with me.
3: think about all the stuff I could be doing when the electricity is on
4: count all the stuff i cant do with the electricity down.
5: turn on the generator.
Practice with my guitar.
A. Of course, the Skulls would never forget you on xanga, you're quite unforgettable
B.1. Exercise
2. Eat
3. Start exploring shit
4. Become one with the Darkness
5. write
A. yes, I would. because you're the only person here who razzes on psu. but, more importantly, you make me laugh. i wouldn't look at horrible tattoos if it wasn't for you. and you say nice things when you visit my blog.
B. my kids LOVE it when the power goes out. (i love it too because the tv goes off without my nagging. but i don't love it because the computer goes off too- catastrophe!) and it's better at night. because we have enough fancy flashlights and stinky propane lamps to light up the house like daytime. we like to sit around reading, sometimes play games, sometimes girls to paint or draw, occasionally there might be conversation. it's even better if we have firewood and can stoke up the fire. while we're sitting there doing all that good stuff, we wait anxiously for the power to come back on so we can get back to doing the regular stuff. we're that kind of silly.
No more homework for me. Exams are over. It's time to enjoy!
'Cause I must be traveling on now,
And this bird you can not change.
Okay, let's see...five things we do when the power is out.
1) Listen to Zoe throw a fit because she can't access the internet.
2) Follow the kids to the bathroom to make sure they don't flush the toilet.
3) Have a snack with the kids.
4) Play with the flashlights.
5) Read a book, listen to music on the iPod, game on the PSP or DS.
I would definitely remember you if you were gone. I actually thought about you the other day even though I haven't been on xanga much. I wondered about your Terrible Tuesday Tattoo post lol. I kept seeing these guys in the store with white pride tattoos and nazi symbols on their arms.
When there's no electricity I read by day light or talk with my parents or play with the animals. find something to much on. basically normal things but without electrical items.

(just sayin')
A. Of course! You are one of the few rare reasons to come here.
A. I would remember you... but you had better not leave, or I will be sad.
B. Without electric... I mostly knit, and crochet, and loom, and tend the garden, go fishing, and read real books not those Kindle ones.
At night you can look at the stars, make shadow puppets with the flash lights if the batteries aren't dead, bbq, tell ghost stories, and sleep.
Frankly, I do much better without electrics than I do with it. With it I just sit here like a boob on the computer all day and knit, and watch Youtubes, and read Xanga.
I'd probably notice you were gone because you're from Wisconsin.
Without electricity, I would enjoy the peace and quiet.
I'll take on the bottom one. Fill the tub with hot water. Have sex. Eat the left over pizza cold. Go for a walk with your baby, come home and have sex.
A. I would remember you. I will, always, remember you! You've been a good friend to me and you've always brought such fun and joy to my days! I love that we have similar senses of humor.
I would miss you, too! So, please don't leave!
B. 1. Play with my battery-powered BOB! 2. Play with myself. 3. Play with someone else. 4. Play with a flashlight. 5. Play with myself again.
HUGS!

@roscoes_farm - Ha! That's all I'm gonna say...
A: I'd remember, and I'd cry! Or listen to Freebird. Or both, because I hate that song.
B: Well we lost electricity during the hurricane. During that time I listened to a battery powered radio. I read my kindle. I used my laptop (except for the internet) very sparingly so the battery wouldn't drain. I did crossword puzzles. I played scrabble by candle and flashlight with my brother.
A. Yes.
B. Sex, sex, sex, sex, and sex.
if you left to mower all of your friend on her would be sad
A. Yes, I would remember you. And curse you for leaving me. Who else is going to write nice ass on my poetry??
B. Masturbate, sleep, clean, go somewhere with electricity, curse myself for forgetting to buy a flashlight and batteries every time I go to the store.
Without electricity... light a lot of candles, enjoy time with my husband, read a book, write in my journal, go out for a walk.
FREEEEEE BIRRRRRRRRRD!
you are fun. have a great night.
A) Of course. It's hard to forget someone like you in less than a day.
B) Depending on the time, I usually either go somewhere or go to bed. If it's that awkward hour where nothing is open but it's still too early for bed, I might light a candle, play with my iPhone, and maybe even talk to my husband.
hello there, don't mind me... i know i was already here, but i just wanted to make sure i rec'd this... and i did... i thought i did, but it was kinda late last night when i did, so i just wanted to make sure i did. whew... you get all that??

Dear Teacher,

I have an apple for you.
Sincerely,
Your Pet
A. I would remember you fondly, though in time not frequently.
B. 1. Ask for the fifth time why the wifi isn't working, because it's inconceivable it doesn't have a back up battery.
B. 2. Try to remember where I left the flashlight
B. 3. Light up
B. 4. Remember where I left the flashlight
B. 5. Think of something really deep and forget to get the flashlight.
And I guess I'll answer B:
1. Complain that the power is out2. Bitch about the power being out3. Moan about the power being out4. Cry like a first world brat because the power is out5. Cuss at anything I can because the power is out.
yes of course. stay in da bed sleep sleep sleep and
A. I will remember you because you're an asshole. And assholes are never forgotten.
B. Play the Piano (yes, in the dark), Play the guitar, masturbate, sit on the roof, look at the stars.
I will buy a man-powered electricity generator. I will generate electricity myself. I can keep fit by doing this. I can also save money because I don't have to pay electricity bill.
@Peridot21 - Hmmm Culver's would be an awesome place to go because if they lost power they'd need me to eat all their stuff before it melted.
@musicmom60 - yes, you get an A, thanks. A few people have said board games. I guess I need to get some board games and someone to place them with if the power ever goes off.
@roscoes_farm - but how can you do #1 without electricity? Wouldn't you need power to watch something? Don't tell me you're like me and a savage and use actual magazines?
@Lakakalo - hopefully it's not an electric guitar
@Twiztidsilverskull - Thanks much. I'd be afraid to go out exploring around here because of the roving gangs of Amish and mental cases.
@promisesunshine - Aww thanks...you know I could go full blown mad at PSU because more stories are coming out about what he did to family members but I won't waste the time because he'll be getting jailtime soon.
I'd love to have a fireplace for that reason.
@Arrabella_Lyka - well then have a fun vacation
@ZombieMom_Speaks - Lord knows I can't change Lord help me I can't change eee ange eee angee won't you fly-iiii Freebird yeah *making noises that I think sounds like a guitar solo for the next 3 hours*
All fun, I can't imagine having kids and no electricity especially when the kids are tech savy.
@LadyofWaters - Thank you and WOW! I don't think I've ever seen white supremacist tattoos up close and personal but I know I have been in a motorcycle shop that is owned by a former KKK member and it was creepy as all get out.
I've never lost electricity for long periods of time so I was curious what others did.
@xplorrn - that last one, well I'd have to imagine that. Harold Melvin once played at the casino up here and every time I heard or saw a commercial I'd quote a Snoop Dogg album, "Bitch, you without me is like Harold Melvin without the Blue Notes, you ain't never goin' platinum".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcEPqIBrSlk
@nattata - So you must be those footprints from Deutschland that I see from time to time
@spinner_mom - No plans on leaving, I was just listening to Freebird again but all the middle school crap going on makes me debate it but then every place has that element.
I think I could get a lot done without TV and internet. I know I probably would've finished my Christmas present for my mom by now and probably twice over.
@whyzat - I sometimes think I'm one of the only Wisconsin Xangans. Actually I know of one from Milwaukee and one from Kenosha but they aren't active users. Unless you are from Wisconsin.
I could imagine peace and quiet until the Amish gangs started racing their buggies around town.
@Smokin_SultrySally - yeah that sounds about right but only if you had someone to share no electricity with.
@AdamsWomanFell - thanks, I'm not leaving but was just listening to Freebird although all these middle school antics have me down but then I think that that sort of activity is at every website
Sure got a lot of playing there, make sure you have plenty of batteries and hand lotion so you don't develop blisters.
@leaflesstree - how can you hate Freebird? Every single live band I see I scream FREEBIRD when there is a lull in the show to let them know how much I love that song and would appreciate hearing it. None have indulged me except the time I saw whatever was left of Skynyrd playing at a local bar.
I've never lost power for that long so I sort of wanted ideas. You know board games are smart and now I wish I had them and someone to play them with.
@randaness - Well thanks and when this electricity goes off there might be a lot of babies in 9 months.
@godfatherofgreenbay - you could probably give me an education. i've stopped reading/watching the news. may he go straight to hell.
@James2012 - well thanks, James. I'm not planning on leaving but Xanga got me down and I was listening to Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd and they ask that question in the song so I just wrote it down.
@opticalnoise - oh yeah, I have to remember that for your next batch of poetry
But don't you need batteries to do the first item on your list? I bought a flashlight at the dollar store because it was a dollar and i needed a flashlight for my downstairs, well I ended up burning out the bulb because I used it to play with my cats. For some reason they loved chasing the light.
@SamsPeeps - glad you enjoy, hope your night was swell
those sound like peaceful things, I'd worry about the Amish gangs going nuts and racing their buggies around town now that we've sunk to their level and they need to establish dominance over the non-Amish
@the_rocking_of_socks - aww thank you
I like your last item..."maybe", a couple towns over had a tornado this past summer and it knocked out power and the only place in town that had power was the Walmart so everyone went to Walmart and it was wall to wall people.
@Peridot21 - oh you know you can come here any time you want, and thanks for the rec, I have this strange theory about what time to timestamp and rec posts. Usually I try around noon, 6PM, and 8PM. I think that's when the traffic is heaviest.
@AdamsWomanFell - Oh man...apples...I thought I was sick of them but then I cracked open a jar of my spiced apple rings and a jar of my applesauce and some apple butter and my grocery store has golden delicious apples. I'm not sick of them.
@girlForgetful - thanks, yeah I get that, there are some of the first Xangans I met here that are no longer here that I think about but not as often as once before
That reminds me, I need a flashlight for my downstairs. I burnt my last one out playing with my cats. For some reason they like chasing the light.
@Rob_of_the_Sky - Did Mr. Burns once shut off your electricity
@Ghost_Whisper48 - hahaha, sounds good to me
@Rainboxx - aww thanks
Hopefully you don't have an electric guitar. You know the last three things you mention you could knock out all at once. There was a Leonardo DiCaprio movie where his character did that. It seemed a bit odd but then whatever.
@ClimbUpTreesToLookForFish - hey that's good thinking, fitness and energy effecient
@godfatherofgreenbay - yeah i had to alter the ip just to protect the innocent... if you add =1 then you can witness the poor soul who was so unjustly tormented... oh and some thoughts... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eD4cQHJNVgk&feature=related
and of course... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLsXJ1CFEUY
@godfatherofgreenbay - do YOU need batteries to do the first item on my list? My arms may be all jacked up from the fibro, but... in a pinch, you know.
@godfatherofgreenbay - He blocked out the sun, and I use solar power. So I shot him. That was a spoiler alert btw.
@xplorrn - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XknJdDaw134&feature=related
@opticalnoise - well hand lotion is pretty much standard but maybe I should go over to some device because I'm hating having one arm larger than the other
@Rob_of_the_Sky - I thought it was your youngest daughter who shot him spoiler alert
@godfatherofgreenbay - or just rotate which hand you use
@godfatherofgreenbay - I own a couple, and they're sitting in my living room for just such an occasion. Unfortunately, I live alone and rarely have visitors, so they never get played. I've tried playing against myself, but it's hard to do that with Clue.
@godfatherofgreenbay - Not sure what a "long period of time" would be we've had it out for half a day before. if all else fails you just nap lol
@opticalnoise - And cheat on Louise? NEVER!
@godfatherofgreenbay - Actually, it IS an electric guitar. I can practice without annoying anyone nearby. The acoustic guitar is too loud for it's own good. And the bamboo flute can be heard from down the street. >_<
@Lakakalo - well I suppose that would be better but when I play mine it sounds so bad without power, if I don't want to disturb others I have to have headphones
