  • Lukewarm Links 12/29

    Hey, here's some links

    1.  May as well start with the dirty one.  This may be NSFW.  Do you watch American Pickers?  I do.  Do you like Danielle on that show?  I do.  Well you can imagine my amazement when I found out she was a burlesque performer and had a website promoting her burlesque company.

    2.  I was going to do each of these as separate links but I figure I would let you do the work.  Here's the best of best of 2011 lists.

    3.  I like sports and I know some of you do as well.  Here's a site called WhatIfSports.  It's a simulation where you can run simulations of games to see who would win.  I've been doing this year's Rose Bowl and I'm happy to say UW wins 60% of the time.

    4.  You know how I like the Cracked.com articles, well this may be one of my favorites.  It's a collection of classic songs that started off as jokes but became classics.

    5.  The holidays are a time for treats but not all of those treats are delicious.  Here's a list of 25 unappetizing holiday themed treats.  Jones Soda tries way too hard.

    6.  This was sort of a depressing site for me.  It's a collection of foods you'll never be able to eat again.  I can't believe I ate so many of those.

    7.  I know I've posted this site before and not a lot of you are into religion but I laugh at it.  It's called Bad Vestments and it's a collection of bad apparel that pastors wear for church services.

    8.  Simple website of the week...Draw a Stickman.

    9.  A while back I was talking to someone here on Xanga about the hidden menus of fastfood restaurants.  I found the list.  If I ate at McDonald's I'd want to order the chicken and waffles.

    10.  You're sitting on the internet right now and why shouldn't you being making the most of your time online.  Well now you can, after you leave me eprops of course, by taking these online classes that are TOTALLY FREE!  I think I'm going to try all ten.

    11.  Until I discovered the internet I never knew that women had such a hard time drinking water.  It's amazing what you can find when you look for women struggling to drink water.

    12.  Everything you need to know about life, you can learn from They Might Be Giants.

I think that would be better than the original.

I wonder what the conversion rate is for dollar bills to floating gold coins and coins hidden inside bricks.

Probably not but then I'm not your mom.

yeah when you vlogs you really want to make sure your sextoys aren't visible...

unless you're planning an elaborate porn parody.

You'd be amazed how doing this gets you out of traffic jams.

Pretty much every day of school was like that for me.

Early warning signs that you may have a pothead baby.

Business in front, party in back, and tax refund everywhere else.

Hey, look, they named a corner after me.

With a name like Smuckers, it has to be a good shaving cream but it appears that he's Skippied a few spots.

Sometimes this is how I feel when I'm on Xanga.

  • I was disappointed that the foods no longer available link didn't include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Pies with Vanilla Pudding Power.  That omission is so grave that the link should not be included on your post.  Oh, and some of the hidden fast food menu items appear on the menus around here, most notably the french dip at Arby's.  In fact, we get coupons for the french dip around here.

  • Thats amazin... that chick on American Pickers is mildly hot, but in burlesque, she'd be a real looker.

  • fun links... hehehehe hmmm i don't think those items not listed on the menu are not available in my area :( but they sure look sinfully yum!

  • i dig american pickers too. also caught gold rush alaska this year. pretty cool, big equipment, environmental carnage, tricky work arounds; lots of stuff going on. then i watched an episode of discovery's moonshiners. there, a coil fell off the back of a busted down pickup truck and they swapped out the tree camo over the still. oh. and some guys were looking at maps. really?

  • I don't know - give me Ecto Cooler & a night filled with rock docs a la "Worst Songs Ever Written" or "Dudes Who Didn't Think Their Sarcasm Would Be Taken Seriously," and I'm set for the night.  Set.

  • WHOA . . . I just looked up Danielle from American Pickers because 1., I've seen the show like twice, and 2., her name is Danielle, she has to be awesome.  Um . . .  that chica is HOT.  Holy balls.  I've now developed a complex.

  • Got to like things simple.  And I think that the hidden menus only apply in the U.S or at least they don't do that kind of stuff here. Also, thanks for the online classes link!

One more thing: That comment of yours about Mario was pretty neat.
Thank you for sharing, as always =)

  • SqueezeIt....i always wanted to drink those when i was a kid and my parents would never let me.  I guess it's a good thing now because i've never had a cavity...lol.  And i still have an unopened bottle of Orbitz.  I wonder if it's worth something now..hmm....

  • I just checked Ebay and one bottle of Orbitz is selling for $25.....WOW!!!

  • Having worked at BK I can say that the Vegi Whopper is a very big favorite with the high school girls, and the Mustard Whopper is a big favorite or high school boys, and very very old men. Weird, eh.

Oh mi freakin gawd!!! Sweet Child O Mine was just a joke that started off as a string skipping exercise!!! I must go practice! Wheeeeeeeee!

  • re #4 i had no idea those songs started off as jokes.. i like pretty much all of them

  • I came over.  Then I clicked on the link to see which songs started out as jokes (fav: fight for your right to party!) then I got hooked on cracked and spent a half hour over there looking at things like the top 10 stupid things to do on an elevator.  Thanks a lot.

  • Lots of people never proof what they write, why would their photos be any different

  • I must try some of those starbucks drinks...

  • Re the girls having problem drinking water.  That's because they have a depth perception problem.  All their lives they have been told that

!________________________! this much is eight inches.

  • Vloging sounds like a recipe for disaster... especially if you leave your dildos out and about like lazy pets. ;) But Im assuming because he's topless he wants to show us that he can be vulnerable and approachable... dont you think? :p

  • @Rob_of_the_Sky - wow, I haven't seen that French Dip in an Arby's for about 5 years.  Oh those PB Crisps were much better than Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Pies.

@roscoes_farm - oh yeah, I like her quite a bit on that show because she's so assertive

@tribong_upos - glad you enjoyed, there are so many items from McDonald's around the world that I'd like to try but I will settle for the items on that list

@complicatedlight - I love how on The Soup they mostly focus on the glory holes with that show Gold Rush.  I laugh so hard at some of those videos.  For most of the day and part of the night I have been watching this show on my channel called Science which is part of the Discovery Channel networks.  This show is called Oddities.  It's basically a combination of American Pickers and Pawn Stars if those shows were set at a freak show and art community.

@ZepBlueEyedGirl - Yeah that Danielle has a lot of tattoos but for some reason I am really attracted to her "spots".  Back in college, a few guys and I talked about our love for the Ecto Cooler and we bought the flavor that Hi-C supposedly introduced because of the popularity but it didn't taste the same.  We made our own.  It was UV Blue Raspberry vodka, lemonade, and orange juice.  I can't remember the ratio now.

@nov_way - Good luck with the classes.  I don't know about the secret menus in other countries.  I know there are menu items all over the world that aren't on the American menus.  In fact there are regional items that are just found in that specific region.  Like on the East Coast McDonald's frequently have lobster or crab rolls.  I can't think of what my area has that others don't.  I think we have these burgers that are cheese sauce with sauteed onions mixed together and topped on a burger.

@ShamrockLover - I've only had one cavity and that was while I was in college...probably too many jack and cokes.  I used to love Orbitz and was sad to see that it's now just a gum although I don't know if it's the same company.  Then there was the Snapple Elements line.  I loved the Rain drink.  oh and that purple ketchup was good.

@spinner_mom - I may have to try a mustard whopper.  We had the Gilbert Burger.  Everyone thought it was a double whopper.  Well it was actually a triple whopper.
Isn't that amazing?  Here I thought it was a deep and meaningful song.

@Peridot21 - yeah it's amazing that Sweet Child O' Mine was something deep about someone's child.  I sort of had the feeling that Loser was a joke but not to that extent.  I bought that album when it came out my freshmen year of h.s. (dating myself...oops) and the dorm pastor saw it when I was leaving for spring break and he told me to leave it at home and not bring it back.  A day after we returned from break he checked my room to make sure I didn't have it.

@DivaJyoti - I used to post two or three articles from Cracked in these posts a year or more ago but people claimed what you did, that you get sucked into other articles.  That is such a great site.

@ElevenStones - that is so true, I had a student once hand in a paper where it was obvious he left his computer unattended while typing and someone sitting next to him typed some interesting things.

    @emily_shannon - DO IT

    @curiousdwk - hahahaha...that's so true

@theladyofabundance - I hide all my adult material so it's never visible when I vlog.

  • Thank you for the well-wishes and yeah, it's true, they have a McArabia or something here. Thankfully I'm no longer a fan of fast food places-- or anything else, for that matter.

  • The list of things never to be eaten made me sad. The list of secret menu items made me happy. i like food.
