  • Lukewarm Links 2/2

I won't be doing a Celebrity Round Up this week.  I have a special post for tomorrow.  I haven't really had time to do any "research" and tomorrow I won't be around to plan things because I have a follow up doctor appointment.  I guess I am on pins and needles.  Anyway, I'm pissed because I had plans tonight and taped The Office.  Yeah, I'm old fashioned and still use a VCR to record TV shows.  I taped The Office but my NBC station crapped out so I only got about 7 minutes of the show and interestingly enough I got all the commercials.  I guess I'll have to watch it online.  I probably figured out the plot through the previews I saw earlier this week but I still want to see it.  Time for links.

    1.  I've been posting these off and on on my Tumblr and Twitter.  It's a 30 Day Challenge of sorts.  It's 30 days of different macaroni and cheese recipes.  Yeah...I'm totally from Wisconsin.

    2.  Earlier this week I saw a post on either Lovelyish or Datingish or Momaroo about a girl whose senior class photo wasn't allowed in the yearbook because it was too racy.  Well here is a collection of racy senior pictures.  When I was in high school and wanted to get senior photos I had some awesome ideas but the photographers shot them all down.  One was me standing in front of a fire and the other was me holding one of my rifles in one hand and a newspaper in the other.  They thought the CIA would arrest us all if I did the second one.

    3.  This is for a particular Xangan who really enjoys chocolate.  It's a collection of amazing things created with chocolate.  The chocolate dress...yeah, I'd like to eat that.

    4.  Have you ever watched The Simpsons?  Did you ever notice the cars?  A few of the cars in that show have no "real" counterpart however most are modeled after real cars.  Here's a collection.  There are a couple of those that I'd love to ride.

    5.  Do any of you have Tumblr?  Do any of you watch the TV show "Oddities"?  Well if you said "yes" to both of those questions then you may enjoy the Tumblr site of one of the people on "Oddities" Ryan Matthew Cohn.  I've really been digging finding Tumblrs belonging to famous people.

    6.  I happened across this site after my Laughgasm post.  I was thinking about the volleyball photo and found this collection of the tightest uniforms in sports.  Hey, I'm a guy.

    7.  One thing I've never quite figured out in all my years on this planet is the fascination and idolization of serial killers.  I understand reading about their crimes and studying them for the basis of seeking others who may display similar traits to curb them from going down a grizzly path.  However making trading cards, proposing marriage, and collecting mementos of the criminals is something else.  This is a collection of something else I don't get, songs about serial killers.  I suppose I should shut up because if it wasn't for a serial killer from Wisconsin we wouldn't have such classic movies as Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, or Silence of the Lambs.  Also, Wesley Willis is featured and Wesley Willis is awesome.  And while I'm on the subject of Silence of the Lambs, I'm so shocked that the guy who plays the captain in Monk played Buffalo Bill.

    8.  Do you use words that aren't in the dictionary but they are known to you and those around you?  Well you may enjoy Unwords.  It's a collection of made up words to express those hard to express things in your every day life.

    9.  I should've posted this website a couple of weeks ago but it's still relevant.  One of the biggest supporters of SOPA/PIPA is/was Senator Al Franken from Minnesota.  This site pretty much exposes why Franken is such a strong supporter.  His vote was bought.

    10.  I know I've said it before but it bears repeating.  I hate Twilight and for the simple fact is that it sounds like it was written by a fourth grader on whip-its.  Don't tell me how I'm a hater, it's simple English.  I have taught 5th graders who write better than Stephanie Meyers.  I have no hate for the story, girl finds vampire and complicated relationship ensues complete with opposition from supernatural elements, but the writing is AWFUL.  Anyway, he's a site that gives examples of what Twilight would've been like if it had been written by authors.

    11.  I posted this a while back on Tumblr.  A guy has taken old black and white photos and has given them color.  It's quite stunning.  I wish he had done some more work since I last saw this site.

    12.  OK this may not be liked by many of you but I love it.  It's called Packers FanCam and during Packers' games at Lambeau Field photos are taken of the people in the stadium and then the photos are posted on the site and people can "see" themselves.  It's amazing how close you can get to the people.  It's like you can see if they have anything stuck between their teeth.

    Better do it.

I just want to fire that back when the GOP candidates talk about jobs and say the president has done nothing to create jobs.

Good thing Sarah Bachmann isn't running any more.

That grandma was such a kidder.

He was naughty because he lied.  Liar, liar pants on fire.

YES!  Keeping our wives barefoot and pregnant is the only way we can stop the Muslim hoard.

And just because I've been critical of the GOP doesn't mean you're off the hook.

Found in Madison...I sort of want to conduct a study.

Maybe that's why Iowa chicks are incapacitated.

How about we get that dress off and I show you my Death Star?  Seriously, I made a model of the Death Star and by "made a model" I spray painted a basketball.

So they said I should smoke some pot.

I will never grow up.  Culver's is awesome by the way.  Try their cheese curds and tell them I sent you.  They'll look at you like you're an idiot but tell them I sent you.

Well I hope you all have a good night and a great day.
