  • Lukewarm Links and Tattoo Thursday 12/27

    Well well well, I'm back.  Did you miss me?  No?  That's what I figured.  I know some of you have unsubscribed to me so you don't have to see my posts when you go through your subscription feed.  I love it.  I also drank some caffeine today and now I feel like I'm ready to become Charlie Sheen or maybe it's the booze.  I don't know anymore.  The only good thing is I'm not feeling any pain.

    1.  Well it's getting to be that time of year again when everyone wants to review the best things of the year.  Well here's The AV Club's best film scenes of 2012.

    2.  And here's The AV Club's best music of 2012.

    3.  And here's The AV Club's best comedy albums of 2012.  I have to give props to The AV Club for linking to one of my videos.  I think I only have about 7 uploaded videos and they put one of Conan O'Brien visiting an old fashioned baseball reenactment.  It has 2 comments and over 2000 views.

    4.  I actually tried to get back into Saturday Night Live this year.  Whatever I saw I wasn't displeased so here is a list of the 10 best sketches of 2012.

    5.  Here's a list of the 10 best films of 2012.  I've only seen two of them so I can't say if it's a good list or not.

    6.  I was always terrified of seeing Santa Claus when I was a kid.  I was one of those kids who when put on Santa's lap cried.  Well I get to relive that with this gallery of creepy Santa Clauses.

    11.  One thing I think we'll all remember from 2012 is the election.  I found this site on Tumblr called White People Mourning Mitt Romney.  They should be mourning since his son came out and said that Mitt didn't even want to run for president.  Should've nominated Ron Paul.

    12.  Are you currently disgruntled?  Well try this site called gruntle.me.  It attempts to fix disgruntled humans.

    Yeah that last one is a Dexter tattoo.  If you look closely enough it says "Dexter".  That may not be the reason I posted it...sigh...I really am alone.  Anyway I've been waiting on posting these for some time and decided it was high time to post them and I thought today was fitting since I downloaded all of the Dexter books to my ereader.  Now it's time to go get demented.

    Have a great day.  I took my cats to the vet for their yearly vaccinations.  They always act weird after the shots so I have to give them aspirin tomorrow.  I'm not looking forward to that.  We had somewhat of a snowstorm today...probably about 5 inches so nothing really shut down.  On the way to the vet I saw two bald eagles eating the carcass of a dead deer.  I spent the night inside because I didn't really want to drive anywhere and I'm just depressed.  I watched Ted and Shutter Island.  Great movies.  I'm addicted to ebooks and in the past two days I've downloaded something like 500.

  • Some of those Dexter tattoos are pretty good, cause i mean they really look like him... but there's one that looks more like Bob Saget than Dexter to me... i'm thinking that person probably wasn't too happy with that.

  • I almost got my dad some Truck Nutz for his huge Toyota Tundra truck for Christmas, but I wasn't sure where I'd be able to buy them. Maybe for his birthday, haha.

    Wow, so many Dexter tattoos. I've never seen that show. Maybe I should watch at least one episode to see what it's about.

  • Are you still injured? I thought the last blog of yours I read said that you were beginning to feel better. I only clicked the Santa link because I wanted to see if it was one I had looked at. The other day, I looked at hilarious Santa photos where the children were terrified or doing something wonky. It was on some mom website, no clue why I was there! My husband would love the geeky website, I kind of love it myself! What a horrible face tattoo. I have never seen Dexter, but my friends won't shut up about it. Cheer up and feel better, but don't drink yourself into oblivion.

    I used to read the av club religiously but lately I've been more into cracked.com although I do read savage love. I am not cool enough to know half the music or movies they reference in their inventories. :(

  • I've never watched Dexter, either, but I've seen a lot of ads for it and some of those tats are impressive. Have you watched that show that is a contest to see who can make the best tats? I think it's called Ink  Masters. I've seen a couple, but they argue and bitch about things too  much for me.

  • @Persona_Grata - It's a tv show about this serial killer who tries to live a normal life despite his addiction to murder. You can read more about it here on its IMDB page.

    I glanced at the show a few times and even though it's well made its too weird for my taste.

  • oh gosh...I must admit the third grossed me out!! Always remember there are people who have it worse than you. I also first thought it was a guy who got it because the shadow on her face looked like a beard, and wondered why his chest was so narrow but then I saw that it's a woman and her breast not her whole chest.
    I spent the last two nights watching movies too...old disney movies on youtube. I watch almost anything that is free. Maybe I should read a book too.

    I like the geeky gifts.
    Even though I voted for Obama, the 'White People Mourning Mitt Romney' site still bothered me a bit.
    I can't imagine having Dexter's face on my body.
    During last year's snow storm, I become addicted to e-books as well.

  • Aspirin?  Why do you give your cats aspirin?  I thought it was deadly to cats, or is that caffeine?  I think some aspirin has caffeine added, like Midol, the one they make for menstrual cramps.

  • @xplorrn - I don't want cleavage shields in the new year.  Dexter is a pretty good show.  Ask Peridot.  It's about a serial killer who kills people who have gotten away with murder.

  • @rachelbachel32 - yeah, I've had a lot of shit come down all at once and I really don't see light at the end of the tunnel but I'm alive so I can't complain too much.

  • @Marica0701 - it's definitely a good show.  I saw an episode on CBS when the tv writers were on strike.  It was heavily edited but it was still good.  I then went out and bought the dvd and got hooked.
    I saw a pair of those nuts on a jacked up truck.  They were about the size of basketballs.  I think someone was trying to overcompensate.

  • @TiRocKiinPiinK - I think I started doing too much before I was better and it actually made things worse.  Dexter is a pretty good show.  The premise is sort of creepy but it really pulls you in.

  • @Grannys_Place - it really is amazing.  I've heard some of the cheaper ones around here cost $60 per hour.

  • @leaflesstree - honestly I would like a tattoo of me.  I just have this weird thing about it since I can't have any on my body.
    Yeah I try to keep on The AV Club so I can stay hip and cool.  Cracked is pretty awesome though but I think for a while there I had read every single article.  I still remember when Cracked was a magazine and it was next to MAD and I always picked MAD because Cracked seemed like a bad knock-off.

  • @whyzat - I watched the first season of Ink Masters because one of the contestants tattooed a guy on a sports show I watch.  It was very impressive.  There is another show on Spike about tattoos and it's about how they take bad tattoos and repair them.

  • @Lovegrove - Dexter is a character on a TV show called Dexter.  Believe it or not, this show wasn't stolen from the BBC.  It's based on novels by a guy named Jeff Lindsay.  The premise is a psychopathic serial killer hunts down people who get away with murder in Miami where they have a 45% conviction rate for murder.

  • @judyrutrider - the vet says you can only give them one a day and for 3 days in a row.  And it's baby aspirin, coated, 81mgs.  I said once that I only had Tylenol and she said that would kill them.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - Thanks! I really needed to know that there are people in the colonies who are having permanent tattoos of fictional serial killers, Please tell me youse goys don't have the bomb no more.

    In passing, Brit family members of mine are having tattoos done. A niece is having them done all over her body. She showed them on her facebook, allowing for comments. I said "that's one way to destroy natural female beauty". Haven't heard from her since.
