Homework Assignment 9/17
OK, class, I graded and answered your last assignment. Now some of you were a bit rusty but I'm going to chalk that up to summer brain entropy. Make sure you answer the all the questions fully and concisely.
Here's your next assignment:
C.
Is this a good song to play at a funeral? Why or why not?Make sure you do two of the questions and make sure for question C you answer the questions underneath the photo.
Now get to work.
My answers:
A. I'd probably end up in Germany so I could live in one of the Reformation castles or churches. I also think Germany would be just like home. I guess that is why so many Germans settled in this state because it reminded them of home.B. I'd go with the Full House cast. I was right around the same age as DJ and Stephanie. I think DJ was supposed to be a couple years older and Stephanie was a couple years younger so I would've loved that dynamic plus you had the awesome rocker Uncle Jesse and the comedian Uncle Joey. Then Danny would clean everything for you even when you drove the car through the kitchen. Plus I'd get to hear "cut it out" quite often. I might also like to live with The Foremans on That 70s Show, Lenny and Squiggy from Laverne and Shirley, and The Cunninghams from Happy Days.
C. Nothingman by Pearl Jam...I don't know how that would work for a funeral song but I think it would be good for me since it may be my favorite song.
Comments (22)
A. Munich because Munich girls are awesome. So is the beer and even if i was killed I'd die happy.
B. In the Addams Family household. They were weird like me and I've not seen a more loving couple than Morticia and Gomez.
C. I'm not listening to a song at the moment but being a Buddhist I like what Johnny Carson answered when asked what he wanted his epitaph to say after he died..."I'll be right back."
A. A new country seems a bit odd. It would be harder to blend in, and isn't that the point of witness protection? Because of that, I choose Canadia. I think I could fit in there.
C. Greensleeves. That's okay for a song, I guess. It doesn't really fit, but it isn't blatantly inappropriate. And, yes, I'm listening to Christmas music in September.
A. Mexico for the tacos
B. The Simpsons household just to find out which state it is in.
1. a totally new country ... it will be a made-up country, of course, established for the sole purpose of accomodating me. There will be topless pole dancers and bar girls obviously. There will be ... uh, that pretty much covers it. Yeah, Poledancia.
2. Barksdale family, The Wire
3. Letter to Prospect Township, Hugh Masakela
A. Fuck this question, because I dropped almost everything I had to try to move to the Czech Republic two weeks ago and that didn't go well at all. But, to be a good student, I will answer.
I choose the United Kingdom or Australia. I'm too lazy now to learn another language (after trying to cram Czech and German recently) and I love their accents. Plus, I have some distant-ish family in the Melbourne region. ... Or, I could choose Egypt or Tunisia. That region really interests me.
B. Family Guy, so that I can hear Seth MacFarlane's voice.
C. "Tubthumping" by Chumbawumba. LMAO. Seems appropriate.
And if we answered all three, do we get extra credit or a hall pass or something?
@ahmd1432@revelife - you could at least leave eprops if you're going to spam me
a. ireland because I can
b. how I met your mother, undying friendships, fun never stops, destination: love
c. House soundtrack music massive attack from the facebook app.
@godfatherofgreenbay - I think that was AloysiusSon. He said he was coming over.
a. Colombia. I grew up there. My fiancee lives there. I like the food.
b. Do you mean, like, I could be McMillan and be married to Susan St. James? Or I could be Charlie and have the Angels over all the time?
c. Joy to the World. Because Jeremiah was a bullfrog.

1. Italy. The mafia would never find me there.
2. Three's Company. I think Jack is kinda cute.
3. Dancing in the Dark. Bruce Springsteen. It would be pretty funny!
May the peace of Cheese be with you.
Answering C before the song ends, it's called Your Little Secret by Melissa Etheridge. I don't think it would be good to play at a funeral because it's about a person who is in a relationship with someone else but wants Melissa also. Not good to dredge that up at a funeral.
A, I think possibly Australia. I'd love to visit a lot of foreign countries like England and France and Japan but I'd stand out too much there and hat might be bad if hiding. Australia I could maybe blend into. Have to watch sone Crocodile hunter eps to get the accent right first.
Hmm I haven't watched sitcoms in a while. All those families seemed pretty demented.
A) North coast, Australia so I can fulfill my lifelong wish of becoming a dive guide on the GBR.
B) Biggest Loser Ranch because I'd have a gym healthy food and a personal trainer.
C) With Twilight As My Guide- The Mars Volta, this is one of my FAVORITE songs but it would not do for most peoples funerals. For me, yes!
my original answers were lost -
i like old country - like the rockabilly era of cash & co - so new country just doesn't resonate for me... but if i had to pick - banjo's i think banjo's are what i want to learn in a new life...
i want to be with mary ann and ginger in their hut... on that island...
here's my funeral song... i had closed my eyes and spun itunes.. the first song i landed on sucked - but this, this i could see....

A. Good lord I have no idea what country I would choose! I guess Canada. They speak English and French. I can learn French pretty easy, ya? It's pretty cold there though. I might have to be re re located to a tropical island. I'm gonna cost the governments too much money moving around so much and they'll just let the mafia whack me.
B. Well, I would live in the Happy Days house... but not the whole house. I want the Fonz's room above the garage. Nice, small little space, no clutter. Just enough room to live in.
C. Florance and the Machine-Dog Days are Over. Kind of weirdly appropriate.
@TheSutraDude - I see Oktoberfest just started over there so there is that good part of Munich. Yeah Morticia and Gomez were such a loving couple. The only one I thought that was more loving was Herman and Lily Munster, the first live action couple to be featured in the same bed.
@randaness - I was just trying to do a better question than "where do you want to live most". I always thought Greensleeves was either a song about death or a song about sex.
@Rob_of_the_Sky - I thought it was Vermont
@we_deny_everything - Poledancia sounds like heaven unless you're the janitor in charge of cleaning after the nightly celebrations in Poledancia. You know...I haven't seen The Wire but I've read up on it and realize I should watch it. I'll have to look for that song.
@Marica0701 - I'd love to go to the Middle East but I'd be afraid of being beheaded because it's a peaceful region. You like Seth MacFarlane's voice? Have you ever heard his singing album? I hated that song when it came out but now I love it.
Oh and I suppose the extra credit entitles you to a hall pass or a drink of water at the bubbler in the hallway.
@crashthedr3am - Ireland is so beautiful. I'd like to hang out with the How I Met Your Mother people but I'd probably end up punching Ted. Massive Attack is pretty cool
@Roadkill_Spatula - I've always wanted to go to South America but I figure I need to know the language and a guy like me would look like he's just there to score drugs. Oh man, I would love to be Charlie but then Bosley was always with the Angels. Three Dog Night...I always loved listening to my dad's albums of them. They had such good harmony.
@Aloysius_son - You are a pretty funny man and thank the Allah that that guy is no longer around here. Maybe I should just thank Xanga team instead. Dancing in the Dark is the perfect funeral song.
@leaflesstree - yeah, you wouldn't want two people fighting over you at the funeral although I'd love to fake my death so I could see women fighting over my casket. Demented sitcom families are the best. And I'd like to go to Australia too but I have weird reasons.
@Thatslifekid - That sounds like it would be a lot of fun. Also the Biggest Loser ranch would be good. I should probably check in there. I got Mars Volta confused for another band for a second and I was about to say one of their songs would be perfect for me.
@xplorrn - That funeral song would be great. I think maybe follow it up with some Hayseed Dixie. Their cover of Highway to Hell. And Mary Ann and Ginger...yeah that would be swell to be on an island with those two because the only other people are a married couple and gays.
@spinner_mom - I think I'd like to spend summers in the Canadian wilderness and winters on a deserted Caribbean island. Yes, that would be awesome. You could live with the Cunninghams and all their nieces and nephews and grandchildren but you could leave when they get stupid. Yeah that is sort of an appropriate song.
A. I would go to Alaska because I feel I am properly prepared for the zombie apocalypse, and the mafia is close enough.
B. I would live on the Big Bang Theory, because I could totally be the dumb blonde.
C. I would play "Lime in the Coconut" and hope everyone broke out in dance like Beetlejuice.
I was going to say Brownsville Texas; it's like a different country without leaving the US, but then I read we_deny's answer.
I'll just go with him
A. I would want to go to Australia, I've always wanted to go it's a huge country to get lost in but people still speak english so I could get by.
B. I would want to live with the Munsters, cool cars, best pets and the dress in black
C. 50 Ways to Say Goodbye...I would say it's a good one, it's kind of upbeat not too mellow and it is what it is I'm all of time its time to say goodbye...lol
@BoulderChristina - Alaska would be pretty nice although I hear a lot of witness protection people get placed up there
I don't know if I could take living with the Big Bang Theory people. I'd probably be put in prison because after a half hour I'd be choking Sheldon
That would be awesome...there needs to be more dancing at funerals
@ElevenStones - Poledancia is where it's at
@wyckdstorm - I remember a few years ago running into some Australian tourists. They were speaking English but I didn't understand a single thing they said.
The Munsters was such a good show plus Herman and Lily were the first live married couple on TV to be featured in the same bed. Oh and Herman and Grandpa were both on another show I like called Car 54 Where are You
I just recently saw a Behind the Music show on VH1 about Train. I never realized they had so much upheaval.
I'd go live in florida. It'd be closer to all the cruise ports and I wouldn't have to drive an entire day to get to one of the ports. Is that a little lame? lol
@LadyofWaters - I think Florida would be nice for that reason plus no state income tax
