  • Rough Day

It's been a rough day.  I got up at sunrise because I had a cat on my back.  It seems they love to crawl on me while I sleep.  They love to knead their claws in my back and guess who didn't have a shirt on last night because he was warm.  I stand up and felt dizzy and then the blood started, bloody nose.  AWESOME!  The blood got all over my sheets so I had to do laundry.  After cleaning up and throwing sheets in the laundry, I decided I needed to get to preliminary work on the garden.  I planted two blueberry bushes and two of those upside down tomato plants.  I hope this year no one decides to steal one of those tomato plants.  Yes, I had a topsy turvy tomato planter stolen last year.  Bunch of savages in this town.  Then after cleaning I had to go out and work for the census.  I've been doing that because the teaching gigs aren't plentiful at this time of the year.  I went out to do follow-ups and I had a huge clusterfuck of a mess in addresses and people responding with the wrong forms.  I was called a "n-word(I won't write it) lover" once again...that brings the tally that I have been called the n-word to 4 times.  I was stung by a bee.  I was bit by a dog.  A woman stopped me and told me her life story because she knew my grandfather.  My grill wouldn't light when I tried to make lunch.  I don't want to leave the comfort of my home because I fear I would get struck by lightning even though there isn't a cloud in the sky.  Oh I suppose there is the chance I'd get electrocuted in my house once again.  So what do I do when I have days like today?  I remember these two things:

  • :( ... damn, all that happened in one day?! I work for the census right now, too, before I can find a real, full-time permanent job (Job searching has been very difficult and frustrating, to say the least.) Even though they pay me really really really well, I just want to get it DONE with. I can see why they pay the workers so high (in my area, at least).

  • @mZdejavuZ -

I wish I was back in Minneapolis. I heard those workers get close to $25 an hour. I just got my first paycheck and was quite happy. The paycheck was worth sitting through the mind-numbing training. I think the most frustrating part is how people take down the notices but never bother calling.

All that happened today except the electrocution and the theft.

  • good grieeeef, godfather... and it's not even friday, the 13th... or even a friday... or even the 13th

i think you're right to not leave the house... but do not, i repeat do not, touch anything having to do with electricity ...well, except for the computer ;)

  • @godfatherofgreenbay -

O_0 $25 AN HOUR?! HOLY MOTHER!!!! The frustrating part for me is when I can't find people at home, and don't get as many interviews as I can! :( ... Anyway, glad to hear you didn't electrocuted or robbed!! =P But sorry to hear everything else happened today.. :(

  • @Peridot21 -

Oh well...I am still all smiles. I am planning on doing another run in a few minutes so who knows what that will bring.

  • aw. your day was worse than mine was yesterday. would you like one of my cheer me up oreos?

  • @TheSecretLifeOfPandas -

Are these Oreos able to be dunked in raspberry honey vodka?

  • The first one wouldn't work for me, but still, *hugs*

  • Stung, bit and called names. Damn. I'd buy you a beer.

  • Wow...Sorry you had such a rough day.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - soooo... everything still okay over thrrr? ...just checkin' hehe ;)

  • Hope that dick thing works for you . . . my day just plain sucked . . . no silver lining . . . I don't even have a dick.

  • Heh, at least you're looking at the bright side of things.

I, sort of, gardened today too. My Mum planted two new trees outside while I watched. I think I'm going to take a picture by them soon and see how they grown compared to me. It'd be interesting.

  • Sorry you had such a bad day, I finally had a good day after a long stretch of bad days - oh well, vodka takes care of everything, doesn't it? :P

  • @dirtbubble -

yes...beer...it sounds great right about now.

  • @Shining_Garnet -

Yeah, it was rough but I have to look on the bright side, I am still alive.

  • @Peridot21 -

Well I went out to do three more houses and I got bit by another dog. Dogs hate me. I must be wearing milkbone underwear.

  • @jacksoncroons -

Oh well the bad part of having a penis is that it's always being chased by an asshole and two nuts. Some Sicilian meat loaf and vodka made me feel better even after the second dog bite of the day.

  • @m_kabs -

I took all these photos of my garden last year but I forgot to post them and when my computer crashed I lost all of them. I guess I need to get my act in gear this year.

  • @Melissa___Dawn -

Yes...Shaker's Vodka, I was smart and invested in some of their holiday vodka. I don't think they make it any longer. Nor do they make their rose vodka. I saw it on eBay going for $100 a bottle. I have 6 bottles because a local liquor store had it on sale for $5 a bottle.

  • Wishing you better days ahead bro. I've woken up like that too, with my cat for example walking over my head, lol. Nice pic in your "@" comment section, I see you've finally given in to temptation and gone Amish, lol.

  • @UR_MUSE -

Yes...Amish...they are everywhere around here plus when they advertise for stud services...oh I better keep that to myself.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay -

I've heard that myth/rumor since forever and concluded that it's pure fantasy made up by wishfully thing guys. If it was true though, I for one would devote my time and effort, free of charge in order to help out. I recall the pic you posted of those cute maidens of the sect some time ago. What man would not sacrifice himself towards their rescue?

  • @UR_MUSE -

    Ok it's only a fantasy...or is it?

  • Cool quote.  Sadly I have no dick.

  • That was a horrible day. I didn't realize you were doing census stuff. That has to be hard. People hate it when people come up to their houses. Even I get a little miffed to have my doorbell rung. Reminds me of girlscout days. Hated talking to strangers and trying to get them to buy my cookies.

  • @NightlyDreams -

Yeah some of the people are happy to have me there but the majority have not been that cooperative. Too bad they don't realize that if they don't fill it out they'll face a fine.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - NORM!!! ...jeez, didn't that hurt?  i mean, were they bad er big bites?  =/

  • @Peridot21 -

I have no clue who this guy is but I think he's pretty creepy.

The bites weren't bad, one didn't go through my boots and the other didn't break the skin but it's still a bite.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - lol yeah, that he is... and then some!

oh gooood, they weren't bad... but still, ick and no funnnn...  =/

  • Good lord...so unfair!  I'm sorry that day sucked for you!

  • @ExposedWrists -

My day today has went like this...census work, go to 3 houses and no one is home, go to an Amish house and almost get stuck because they have no driveway and it's all sand, go to about 4 places that have people, go to a house where a guy claims he filled one out and I said ok after I saw a gun next to the door, went to a house where a 4 year old was standing on the other side of the door and did nothing when I rang the bell or knocked, and the coupdegrace...I'm pretty sure I interrupted a guy spanking it because he answered the door naked with a raging hard on and I could hear porn in the background...and this was all before my lunch break.

  • @Peridot21 -

If you must know how my day went today read the above response.

  • Ha ha ha, love the closing.  I pity your census work, what a horrible way to make a living.  Almost as bad as carrying mail... hope you don't have to go postal or anything!  LOL  <3 Suz

  • @VioletMoonDancer7 -

Well it's really not a living but more of a side job for some extra cash. It's hard to get 20 hours a week. The day after I wrote this I had an incredibly shocking experience. I rang a doorbell and was about ready to fill out my notice sheet but I rang again and the door opened. A guy was standing there with a raging hard-on and I could hear porn in the background. What sort of person does that?

  • I suppose "to suplement your income" would have been better words.  I've been actually making my living by "volunteering" for 20 hours of score keeping for bowling tournaments on the weekends.  The volunteers are given a house tip of $15 per sqad which means for me, $45 on Saturday and $30 on Sunday.  It's provided us with life the last few months, but that's about it.  But, my job is a lot easier and in a constant environment.  About the hard on and porn thing... I don't know how to answer, "What sort of person does that?"  I"m sure lots of people sit around and watch porn, and the males probably get raging hard ons, but what people answer the door that way?  My ex, Dave, for one!  One time we were really hot and heavy into the middle of "stuff" and the Schwan's guy came to the door.  We had the windows open and heard the truck and I told Dave, "Shit, Schwan's, I gotta get the door".  We stop, I run for a nice, fully covering Robe and head for the stairs.  Dave is already down the stairs and since we started in the livingroom, I thought he was going to grab his pants (or at least boxers) from the livingroom.  But, when I got to the livingroom, all of his clothes were still on the floor and he was already down the 2nd set of stairs at the door... Buck naked, raging hard on, door wide open.  WTF?   That was the most embarassing Schwan's order ever!  I apologized for my boyfriend's apearance and he was totally cool about it.  He said it happens to him all the time!  If not once a day, then once a week.  He made the coment that he likes it better when the woman comes to the door that way though!  hahaha.  Maybe it's different if you have a regular raport like that?  I don't know, I have only personally answered the door naked one time, and I hid behind the door and told them I was just about to get in the shower.  Funny stuff!  Thanks for making me laugh, I needed it!  <3 Suz

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - omg maybe i was better off not knowing lol ...you need to quit that job! (if you haven't already ;)

  • @Peridot21 -

How about I come work for you and you give me the same rate the government gives me?
